Psst! Don't tell anyone. It's FRIDAY!!! What's up with you?
Here it is. Friday. I have 40 minutes of work left.
Let's see, what is going on in my life.
Mary lost her job yesterday. To me, it was good news. She took the job as a favor to her boss. She traveled 40 minutes each way to work 4 hours at $7 an hour. Her boss was quite flexible up until the last couple of weeks when we started assisting my son. Sorry, family comes first.
Tonight - Eddie's baseball game.
Tomorrow and Sunday - My FIRST PLACE TEXAS RANGERS. I am taking Eddie's brother and sister Saturday, maybe all 3 Sunday. Eddie was given his choice on Saturday. It is Josh Hamilton Bobblehead night. We have a ticket for him. His baseball team is having a practice. Eddie was given his choice. He said he owes his team, so that is where he will be. That, to me, was almost an adult decision.
I will work my part time job for about 4 hours Saturday before the ballgame.
Gonna even try to fit the gym in a couple of times.
Hope everyone has a great day.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
I'm heading out for my morning walk. This evening, I am taking a second walk with a friend of mine who is super, super, morbidly obese and who will not even consider wls. She is 24, weighs over 500 pounds, and is miserable. So, she tried to ride her exercise bike and pulled her back and I suspect broke her bike. She said something about the bike isn't really designed for big people. So, she asked me if she could walk with me and I suggested that we meet at the mall and walk there. It's climate controlled and flat and for those of you who don't know, where I live is very hilly. Anyway, she is going to try walking. The last time she and I walked together, we didn't even go a half a mile before she had to sit down and later told me that she chaffed so badly between her thighs that she bled. All of her weight is in her abdomen and hips and legs, which means she doesn't wear pants and cannot buy skirts to fit herself so she makes these skirts that are based on one that she outgrew a few years back. Yesterday, she confided in me that she really thinks she is eating so much to kill herself. Anyway, I hope walking motivates her to consider surgery because she cannot do this without surgical intervention.
Also, today I'm going to get my summer class syllabi and policy and procedures done and try and get lecture notes for the entire time. That will save me a headache and, if I can, I'm going to write a conference paper on the disparity between race and class in childhood education. I'm eager to see what I find in terms of research results. That's all for me. Oh, I might clean my garage, but probably won't. I swear, every single time I go out there, I am going to get lost. Where did we get all of that crap?

I had a busy morning with my clients....glad the week is finally over!!!
Nothing new happening here. I am going to go take a book and sit outside. I love to read in the sunshine!!
George....sorry about Mary losing her job. I am so proud of Eddie!!!
I hope everyone has a great rest of the day. Special prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
Getting on here late because I got my butt out the door this morning to do some running around/shopping that I usually do
on Thursday. But yesterday I went to lunch with the copy desk
gang to see our boss, who is recuperating from heart surgery.
He looks good. Along with repairing the valve (or replacing,
not sure which, it was congenital), they had to do a bypass,
as an artery was 100% closed. No wonder he had problems.
But he's doing very well now. Can't wait to get him back at work.
So much better organized than the guy who's taking his place.
So I went to PetsMart, Meijer, Walgreens ... Walgreens only
gave me part of my prescription the other day, so I had to go
back out there anyway; got my rescue inhaler filled so I
wouldn't be caught without again.
George, I'd love to get a Josh Hamilton bobblehead; I collect
bobbles, but I really need to sell some of mine so I can get
some money. I have way too many of them and way too little
money. I'm about to sell some on eBay this weekend, or at
least try. Hate to lose them, but you do what you gotta do.
Sorry Mary lost her job, but it sounds like it's not all that bad.
Have a good day!
it was still before midnite when i went to bed and i figured somebody else should have the honor! and btw--i am excited that it's friday!!!!!!!!!!!! nothing special just don't have to be anywhere tomorrow or sunday!!!!!
michael forgot to pick me up yesterday from work...he got involved in everything he was doing and simply forgot!!!!!!
i cancelled my plasma for tonite since my iron has been low and the drive doesn't pay if i can't give- tomorrow morning i'll tan again...
we met with our bird friend last nite and all systems are go for her to watch the gang-i am thinking we may drive to detroit the nite before our flight and hang out at the super 8 so we don't have to make the drive at buttcrack of dawn- our flight leaves at 6 am so we need to park by 330...i ordered a TSA approved computer bag on wheels last nite- an investment but it will be worth it to make it a tad easier at checkpoint and michael can wheel it along with his carryon with his meds and the camera equipment....we have a medium sized duffle on wheels that i will wheel with my knitting loom and a book and my purse and stuff as well as my bag with my CPAP...now if i can just get all of our clothes into one suitcase i will be good to go!!! i'm getting excited now that some of the tedious things are out of the way!! but i am at the list making point so i don't forget to do some things that are date specific....
his attorney's office called yesterday- the company he worked for has started to make an offer for settlement--they tried once before but w/out a dollar amt attached-this time they had an opening $ amount; which the atty said is actually high for this type of injury-tho laughable--i pray we are not stupid to not start the process....we are still trying to get more PT...the atty explained the procedure for trying to settle and -well--i would say go but michael is not ready to accept it yet...i am ready for us to move on to the next step of our lives and ...well....it is not my body and therefore i cannot make the decision; however, i do fear the possibility of losing out on a settlement....there will be a hearing in a few weeks to determine whether or not he should have more PT since it was denied twice....*** worker's comp is like ins companies who won't pay for wls--they hope you go away or die so they don't have to deal with you***my opinion. i think it is time to move on .
speaking of which...i need to get gorgeous for work....pack my lunch and git to going!
hugs and prayers......................
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

It's friday and payday -- hurrah. We used to get paid every other Friday, but now it's twice a month, and this was a three week pay period, so a nice big check for once!
Clean house this afternoon, and get a Dairy Queen cake ordered for
the refreshments after the piano recital Sunday afternoon. That seemed like the least amount of work for me......probably will only be around 20 people here -- some may have to sit on the floor!
Saturday is the start of "Michigan Week" with a kick-off parade,
sure hope the rain gets over early in the day. Today is Regional
Track Meet here at Sturgis....DS will have a busy day - hope his
boys and girls do good.
Better get something for breakfast -- having some tummy/digestion
problems this morning, so it may just be a yogurt or some tea/crackers.
Have a great Friday,
(on MySpace, MSN, Web pages, Blogs...)
Done! Your Ticker:

I hope you all have a nice weekend! See you on Monday!
George, so sorry Mary's lost her job, but it sounds like it's not such a bad thing. You must be so proud of Eddie to make the choice to be at practice....you're raising quite a responsible young man there.
Margo, sounds like your trip is really shaping up. Lists are good. I'm a firm believer in them!.
Yesterday I decided to go use my Kohl's gift card Gary gave me for Mother's Day. I was going to go right after I got it, but ran out of time. Good thing....I received a 30% off coupon in the mail the other day! Big sale starting yesterday, so I waited. What a great shopping day I had!!! I found 8 tops on clearance, one on sale and a cute necklace on sale too. So, here's how it shook out: $372 retail price, clearance/sale total, $128.00 minus the 30% brought it down to 96.59, then subtract the gift card for $50, so I spent $46.59 for $372 worth of clothes!!! So, all in all I saved $325! Now all I have to do is decide what cuteness to wear to work today....LOL
Hope everyone is planning on a good weekend. Mine doesn't start until Sunday, and then it's not even a day off. Tess and I have to restock our bulk bases for Bella. We will mix up 100# of bath soak base, probably another 80# of salt scrub base, then 5# of lip scrub base. Then, when it's time to package them all we have to do is measure out how much we need and add the fragrancing. It will take all day to make the bases, but they'll last about a month. Makes the process a little more streamlined.
Okay...off to make another latte and get ready for work. Please know I think of all of you often and love you so much!

It has been fun visiting with my family in VA. My daughter and her hubby returned from Hawaii - all tanned, tired but full of happiness.
Meal times are way out of schedule due to baseball, softball and various lessons. Not a complaint, just a fact.
It will feel good to go home on Sunday. I miss my cats, the M&M"S and our every day routine.
THis afternoon, Lindsay and I are going to Jerrod's - the jewelry store. Travis said I am teaching her all my bad habits... I sure hope so.

Kisses
