Sunday morning news!
my garden is looking great. the brocolli is forming tiny little heads as is the cabbage. I also have 3 small one inch long yellow squash on my plants... and blooms on some of the peppers. we have a whole row of different kinds of peppers. lol way too many probably but i love jalapenos.
Have my soaker hoses down to water everything but so far we sure havent had to water anything.
will come a day soon tho...
today is being spent cleaning out the front pond and re doing a lot of that area. we have a leak in there and cant figure out where so i am lining the body of the pond with heavy pond plastic and hopefully that will fix it.
it only got down to 45 here last night but that is cool enough that we wont be playing in the water untill it warms up some lol....have a good day today and hope your veggies will be fine.

I slept in until almost 7:00 this morning. A far cry from the 4:30-5:00 when I usually get up! We are expecting a whole week of rainless days, and how glorious that will be. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get out and pull some weeds in the front yard tomorrow. Gary is mowing/edging today, so I want to get the planter area cleaned up while the ground is still soft. I might even think about planting some new flowers in there. That's kind of a crap shoot for me. First of all, I have the worlds brownest thumb, and then the area in front of the house, around the foundation, is chock full of construction debris just a few inches beneath the surface. Makes planitng anything a real chore.
Jeff and Tess are coming over today so we can do some major Bella production. The whole process has slowed down due to label and photography issues which are too lengthy to go into. But, I'm still keeping hope and good thoughts that we'll be able to get our web site going someday and increase our list of retailers sometime soon. I wonder if the lady from Bare Minerals and Mary Kay had these issues when they first started?
Ok, off to make breakfast and get moving for the day. I sure hope you all have a lovely day filled with sunshine, love and good times.

pat-so great to see you start the thread!! i'll bet you are up so early due to theday you have coming up--your recital will be wonderful..and retirement! well- at least from teaching....enjoy the day!
i am envious jan of the veggies already up and growing! i bought one tomato plant for michael for on the deck-since we might be selling i didn't see any point in trying to grow a whole salad!!! i miss it tho--but we have nice veggie stands between here and my work so i'll support the locals without raising my water bill! that was part of the trouble last year-we had to haul water to our garden (it was in the yard next door) and then the bunnies....
did ya ever feel you were forgetting something important? yesterday, i knew we were sposed to do something-go somewhere , but just didn't know what--it dawned on me at 445 that i had wanted to drive to akron (about 100-125 miles)- to take new cemetery pics so that i had them to show my mom next weekend.darn it--and then we were going to go to my granddaughter, amber's soccer game since we haven't been to any this year (she lives 75 miles away)--well- it was too late to do the drive and today we can't--and amber scored her first soccer goal yesterday--darn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would have loved to have been there to see it!!!!
my grandson went to see Thomas the Train yesterday --wonderful pics-one on my facebook page--
before the rain came yesterday, i was able to plant half the flowers that i bought and mulch that half of the bed--there are serious tree roots and stuff to seperate from the soil so it took awhile...i'll get the rest done today if i get off the computer!it's 9 and michael an dthe dogs are still sleeping...i thought i would grab some quiet on here!
lots to do to get ready for my trip with my mom next weekend...and then-to Panama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hugs and prayers.................
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Last nights dinner for Ella's daughters graduation from IU went wonderful. I tried baklava for the first time. It wasn't dripping in honey or it wouldn't have happened. It is kind of a thing on my bucket list....because I wanted to try it one time. It was dry and crunchy and oh so good. Had a lot of good protein and so I was happy too. I have been not getting my protein in every day since I don't have much of an appetite. But I am doing better and that is the main thing.
I guess our nephew and his family got a new puppy and they want us to go see him. He is part Irish Setter and part Labrador so he is going to be a wonderful dog when he grows up. My main worry is the kids with him while he is little. They have a tendency to run wild and they just let them most of the time...or at least Heidi does.....I told Bill that is my fear for this poor little innocent puppy. Poor little thing...if gets through the kids he will be alright I am sure. ha ha
Nothing much more happening here today. It is going to be my day or rest since I am not going to church either. I miss it when I don't go but I am just so tired this morning. I do have a meeting tomorrow night. Pastor was going to get me but I am driving some now so I was thinking of going myself. But if I still feel sore tomorrow I might just let him pick me up. So that is kind of in the air right now......at least how I am getting there is.
I am sending love and hugs to all along with lots of prayers going up for everyone too. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to smile.....it brings happiness to someone along the line and you can know that you brought someone happiness.
Walking with you on this journey, Mary

G'morning Everyone :::checking clock, yep, still morning:::
This last week was hectic so I haven't posted here. Too many pans in the fire for one old, overweight gal to handle. The good news is that my doctor told me last week that I'm not morbidly obese anymore!!! Yay!!!
Have been doing some training walks for the 3-Day; a week ago I did a ten-mile one and I have the blisters to prove it.
My publisher called and told me that they finally decided on a cover photo for the book. Another Yay!! It took 4 rolls of film (35mm) before she was pleased. Cha-ching-cha-ching. Doesn't she know times are tough?
I'm still going around and around for the The Lady I do errands for. Last year her neighbor had her in court. Apparently she filed charges saying that The Lady tried to kill her and the city took her seriously enough to prosecute. The Lady is an attorney. The neighbor said The Lady was sending demons over the fence to attack her and that she had proof. In court she produced a VCR tape and recorder to play for the judge. It was nothing more than flashing lights. The five police officers involved in the case and who were in the courtroom started laughing uncontrollably so the judge ordered them out of the courtroom and into the hallway and dismissed the case. Is that crazy or what??
I think I have it down pat on the dish washing process. First, I was the dishes in the left side of the sink and put into the right side. Fill the right side with bleach and Tide, let soak for at least 30 min. Drain, put dishes back into left side of sink and wash again. Put in dish drainer.
For laundry, wash hands with anti-bacterial soap. Put dirty clothes in a clean tall kitchen can trash bag, one bag per load, take downstairs. Wash load in Tide and bleach (lights, dark, colorfast or not). Wash hands and put on disposable rubber gloves. Move clothes from washer to dryer. When dryer is done, wash hands, and use fresh disposable rubber gloves to take clothes out of dryer and put into yet another clean garbage bag. Take back upstairs and put on bed in spare bedroom, still in garbage bag. Closets and dresser drawers do not keep clothes germ-free.
Hope this is a good start of the week for everyone!
Take care,
Elaine
