Hey there everyone, I have a lot of reading and catching up to do.  I don't know where the time has gone, but we've been busy doing yard work (in between the rain), cleaning out the garage, and playing catch up around here.  I hope that Linda, Brenda and Connie are feeling well, and that Laureen has found a job.  If I'm missing anyone else, please forgive me, and I hope that everyone is happy and healthy.

My surgical consult is one week from today, and I'm getting extremely nervous as I'm heading into month #4 of clinical weight loss.  My psych eval is three days after the surgical consult.  I feel it's in God's hands and if this surgery is meant to be, it sure will happen.  I'm thinking at the rate I'm going, it could be sometime in August - teeth chattering here.  I've been trying not to obsess over this, and I feel I'm doing a great job so far.

Anyway, I hope that you all are well and enjoying life.  I'll have to catch up on what everyone is doing.

Blessings, Debbie

Debbie, I am glad to see you back. I missed you as I am sure everyone else did too.

Good luck on your consults......and don't fret because they will go well. I go by the thought that if God brings you to it He will get you through it. He brought you to this point and He isn't going to leave you now. Just take everything a step at a time and before you know it the day will be here to transform your life. Prayers are going to be said for you.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hey Brenda and Connie, it's so good to hear from you.  I hope things continue to go well for the two of you.  I'm doing everything that's expected, but I haven't lost any weight except for may be 1 pound.  I'll ask Dr. Garber about that next week.  I can't wait to be on the Loser's Bench - lol

Have a great day!

Hi Debbie,
We've not met yet, but I'm hanging around this board quite a bit.  My name is Mary, and I'm pre-op, with a surgical consult on Friday.  I am extremely nervous, or maybe its excitement, and completely surprised by my reaction.  I never anticipated feeling this way as I am very okay with the surgery.  So you and I are sorta in the same place.  The folks here have been a tremendous support thoughout the pre-op stuff you must do.  I don't think I would have been as calm as I am without them.  Hope to get to know you better.  Blessings on your journey.

Walking with you on this journey, Mary

Dear Dear Mary:  I just want to wish you luck on your surgery consult.  It is so exciting to know some one like you is about to have the best experience of your life.  All the preparations and waiting is so worth it all.  I am so thankful I have this support group to talk to.  They've all been through the same thing as you and me and are so understanding and helpful.  We are family...hear us roar!!  LOL

Peaceful dreams Mary,

Thank you so much for your kind post.  It is enormously helpful to have this board as a source of knowledge and encouragement.  Blessings on your journey as well!

Good luck to you, Debbie. Laureen did indeed find a job.

I'm nearly five years out, but it took me nearly a year from the time I started to when I finally got my surgery, so sometimes ya gotta wait for what you want. In that time, I actually gained weight (I got really depressed). They still did my surgery (because in the two-week pre-op period I lost 23 pounds ... I was really determined then).

Don't worry too much (yeah, that's all I did) and everything will go as it's meant to go. If you need anything, please contact me.

Mary, Jeane and Eileen,

Thanks for the encouragement and words of wisdom.  This is a great place and I need to start coming here more often than I have been. Things have been somewhat busy with work, the weight loss clinic, support group, bird club and piano lessons.....not to mention all the house stuff - but better busy than bored, right?  LOL

Eileen, WOW, five years, you look great.  This is so encouraging!  I'm getting anxious about the surgical consult, but it's a good anxious, if that makes any sense.  Time is going by quickly for sure.

Mary, how far are you into the preop journey?  Do you have to do 6 months of weight loss for insurance?

Have a great evening everone!

D
