Tuesday already!!! WHAT'S NEW WITH YOU????
Good morning all. I am sorry, but I just had to start this today.
This afternoon I sent an email to one of the VPs of the Texas Rangers, Andy Silverman. He is a great guy, and always responds. I probably bug him too much, but he never complains. I was explaining a congestion problem at the Ballpark. He emailed me back to give him a call and we will talk about it. I told him I had a new phone and did not have his cell number any more. Ten minutes later, he called me. We were talking and he says to excuse him one second and he yells out "Good night Nolan, see you Monday". Then he says "Hey Nolan, yell hi to George Trost one of our half season ticket holders. His wife works with the TRWC (Texas Rangers Woman's Club)". Nolan yells "Hey George, how about those first place Texas Rangers."
It was the great Nolan Ryan.
This team is so fan friendly, from the top to the bottom.
That was the extent of my day, outside of the normal work. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Talk on folks.

WOW George are you one of the luckest guys around! Nolan Ryan yelling Hi to you! Got to love a team like that!
Well I have been over to this young man's house to put a vegetable garden in yesterday but guess what? It was to dang wet! Imagine that! Since it has rained everyday here in Indiana at one time or another daily for at least a month! Yesterday was the first full day in a long time that we haven't has any rain! UUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! So didn't get any of the plants in because the soil needs tilling again when it dries out. So maybe this evening my DH can go over and try again, since it is supposed to be nice weather all week here. Also going to my cousins an hour away and setting up our garage sale. Having that Thursday, Friday, and Saturday's until the stuff is gone. She has a small garage that they just use for storage so we won't have to take everything back down at the end of the week. That will be the nicest part of having it there. Wish me luck on getting rid of all my crap!
I hope all of you will have nice weather today! Michelle

morning all!
growing up; my stepmom was very connected with the Cleveland golfing community(she worked for the Clevalnd Open a few years) and the local radio stations;as well as the 1960's era Cleveland Browns... so i was used to walking into the living room at any given time to see Jack Nicholas or Arnold Palmer or Dave Hill sitting on the couch! guess i'm dating myself here with those names! the disc jockeys at WHK radio were good friends as well...ah well...never mind- won't get me a cuppa now!!!!
it seems wierd to be up and getting ready but not for work...we get our shots today then i go to work.......i'm getting to be too much a creature of habit i guess so this whole go somewhere before work has me off my keel....and i haven't had a shot in like 15 years so i am really not looking forward to this--we are both getting the yellow fever shot and (first in the series of) the Hep A and Hep B and i am also getting my tetanus shot...owie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and writing the check to pay for all of these will be a double owie! over 300 but it will be worth the peace of mind!
last nite; i was installed as Vice Regent for our DAR chapter. we had 26 people at the dinner meeting and our membership (which is actually @ 52) is growing by leaps and bounds! the room was very crowded... our Corporation treasurer resigned as she said she would since we terminated the contracted and evicted our caretaker a few weeks' ago...life will go on..it will be alright....
the dogs are all lovey dovey this morning...hard to get up when you are covered in love --brody is a big boy and michael thinks he is getting to be overweight (sorry melissa!) --and oh boy can he pass stinky wind.....anyhow-they are taking up a major portion of the bed and they do not like to be disturbed!!! they snuggle down tightly on our legs and some times it's almost impossible to get out of bed without forcing them to get up too!last nite, roxie had assumed her position before i even laid down !
work yesterday was hard-my entire body hurts from the weekends' yardwork-places i didn't know could hurt!!! i did go tanning after work and that helped a bit-the heat felt so good on those aching muscles!!hated when the bulbs turned off! i'm back to my old -regular- project at work -the common pleas cases -i'm still in 1933 but they now are flat in the file boxes -not all folded up and wrinkly! makes it nice but my fingers weren't working well so i as having a tuff time getting into my groove....it should be better today!
so the big news here is the shots today and then work- and not sure about after work--dinner and some cleaning/packing...need to get all of my genealogy stuff together for my trip this weekend with my mom--maybe i'll put the cemetery vases together tonite-yea! that's a plan!
hugs and prayers to all of you...do something random for someone on the boards! we haven't had a Secret Pal or a RAOK in a long time- do it anyway! i know i love it when i get a card or something in the mail that i wasn't expecting!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Congrats, Vice Regent!
If you think two dogs in bed is crowded, try sleeping with seven dogs (like I did in Lubbock when I was dog-sitting) ... and that was a king-sized bed. I could barely move without hitting a dog.
BTW, Bruce of the seven dogs in Lubbock is doing a little better ... surgery to help him breathe has helped, but pain from his cancer is getting worse. Now he also has shingles. If it's not one thing, it's another. The poor guy. Hate to say it, because it will sound cruel, but it would be better if he would just find peace in death.

Good morning George and my OFF family,
George, never be sorry for starting the thread! Especially when you have such fun news to tell so often. Did you ever get to discuss the congestion problems after your "conversation" with Nolan?
The weather here has been glorious the last couple of days, and is expected to be great the whole week. Last night after dinner I put on my I-Pod and took off for a walk around the neighborhood. I'm an old band geek, so I have a lot of marches on my play list. They're perfect for keeping up a good pace, and bring back some wonderful memories of all the parades and competitions during high school at the same time. I forgot to put my ankle brace on, so only did 20 minutes, but it's a start.
I also have a confession to make; I have a problem with sugar. Problem is, I don't dump and it was my drug of choice before surgery and it's creeping back into my life far too often. Yesterday I bought two packages of M&M's and poured them both into a candy dish on my desk. Thinking (what WAS I thinking) I could just have 6 or so a day. After I ate about half of them, I took the rest and cermoniously put the rest down the sink and turned on the disposal. Hopefully, between that and the walk I can get my head out of my hiney and do the right thing for myself.
Ok......gotta get ready for work. Hope you all have a wonderful and happy day

I was having a similar problem, but it was the 100-calorie snack packs of cookies ... which was fine when I was having one pack a day or once in awhile. But when I was recuperating from knee surgery, I was having two or three a day. So I quit buying them. I figure it is another cost-cutting move, too (even on sale, they are 2 for $5, expensive buggers!) Since I did that, I've dropped 4 pounds without doing much else.
I still have a problem with chocolate, but I limit it to two dark chocolate kisses a day. I figure dark chocolate is good for me anyway (proven to lower blood pressure). But I never have more than two.
