Scary Stuff Today!!

 I went this A.M. to get simple Xrays on my back since the MRI was denied for various reason. 1 being that regualr xrays were not done. So went & got them taken
no problem, right!! An hour later I get a call from my Doc's office saying I _MUST go
to ER now as they found something on the Xrays. No one bothered to tell me what, only I had to go NOW. So got very scared thinking they found some kind of cancer or growth or just had all kinds of stuff going thru my mind on the ride over there. I get
there & they say why are you here?   DAHH If I knew I would tell you. They do a
CT scan of myback find nothing. Do lab & uranalysis & the only thing that was found
a very minor urinary tract infection (beginning stages). So there is some good out of this, but, scaring  the crap out of me was not good for the BP or stress at all. They still do not know what the Radioligist saw on the Xray that would cause so much panic, accept my thinking is he/she might not know I was an RNY patinet and saw the bypassed
stomack thru the Xray & did not guess on what it was. I am on antibiotics for the
infection & that is good before it got way out of control & calmed down now, but
spending 4 hrs in ER was not a fun day for me. Just needed to vent a little. hope
you all had a better Thrusday then I did.

 OMG........  I would have "everything" going through my mind ! ! !   And to  sit there for four hours not knowing   .....    I'm glad it was "just" a mistake by the radiologist.

I'm still not sure it was a mistake, but, it sure scared me. If they had just said hey we
think we need to re-do the Xray or something instead of thinking the worst, it would have been a lot easier to deal with. Hopefully this will get the MRI approved now & we can really find what is up with my back.

I think I would have told the dr. office that I wanted to know why they were sending me to the ER.  What do you tell them at the ER.  DUH, I'm not sure why I'm here but my dr. said to come.  Check with him?  Sometimes I wonder where their common sense is.  they've got the brains to fix us but.....

Yup, That is exactly what I did, They asked why are you here? I don't have a clue, they told me to come & come NOW. The triage nurse new I was upset & said don't
worry. Too late for that one. I have never been told to go to ER now for anything. I
am sure if the Dr's office would have said, I think they need more pictures or something
like that I would not have paniced.
I slept good last night & feel better this A.M.

Have you found out yet why they sent you to the ER?  I think I'd be making a call to vent a little frustration to the Dr. office.  I'd want to know for sure what they think they saw to send you in a panic to the ER.
That really stinks!

They talked to the radioligist & all that was said is there was some kind of spot on the xray. My Doc's office contrued that as something important. I have already spoke to
them & said in the future  handle it differently, so I don't go into a panic mode. If all they needed was mor Xrays, that is what they should have said & ER is the quickist way to do that(in this town) I would not have paniced. Oh well New day & better day

These doctor's today seem to err a little too often on the edge, I've heard of other such instances where they put people in a panic over nothing.  Thankfully, that was the case with you and I hope that you enjoy today a lot better!
