TGIF-What's new?
Got mulch, a bag of top soil, and five veg. plants yesterday....planted sage, lemon thyme, parsley, and sweet basil in my big container - hope they do well. I also found a red pepper plant called Mexibell.....maybe
it will be too "hot" to eat, but it's supposed to be a regular pepper.
The place I went to get flowers for my pots was closed -- it was
Ascention Day (for Christians) and the Amish people don't work on
that day. So I'll have to drive back down this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
Will be working more hours starting next week....we are just so overloaded with work, it's depressing.
Better get on the bike now and drink my green decaf tea......the
shakes are working....down 1 1/2 lbs == yeah!
Looking forward to that cuppa, Margo!

Done! Your Ticker:
Although you don't want to work, it's good to hear someone has more work to do. We have more ads, so I'm happy. People must be buying more somewhere.
The pollen is horrible, so I have the air on until June when the trees stop budding. I can't be cheap, or my asthma will flare up.
Good work, Pat!
Sooooo, today is lay low day.
DH has a doctor's appointment. Then, I'm going to get my walking in because I'm getting the kids this weekend and will not get to do any structured exercise. Since it's a holiday weekend, we will spend it close to home.
My friends and I decided to do a weekly hike. There are four of us girls and we have mapped out a hike a week. Of course, my friends are quite nerdy and they want us to have a president of this club, VP, secretary, and activity director. I would have protested, but they are in their twenties and it's just funny listening to them. I am VP, because the VP does nothing. LOL Our next hike is on Magazine Mountain. The hike that we have chosen is about the same as the one at Devil's Den. There are no caves on this hike but it is pretty.
I only have five more weeks before I'm back in the classroom. I didn't want to teach Summer I, but I am teaching II. The bad thing is that it is every single day that I have to come up with a teaching plan and the students will turn in the same amount of papers, which means that I will be grading one paper a week. It is brutal.
Hope you all have a good day. I, for one, am going to enjoy the quiet for as long as I can because the kids are cute, they are cuddly, they are smart, but they are not quiet.

Good Morning Margo & OFF Friends,
I have missed so much of everyone's lives it seems. . . what is this Panama thing you are speaking of and where you going and who you going to be hanging with? I am remembering our nice GTG in Pittsburgh last year and it was so nice meeting the people that attended. I want to do one here, but the one I was planning is, obviously, logistically speaking, not going to happen, so I will have to go back to the drawing board for something here in my area. I'll just have to see how things transpire once I get settled into my new job.
The weather has been beautiful this past week and so it continues and I am very grateful that I've had such a nice weather week leading up to my new position. I can't believe how quickly this week has flown and I've been busy, first with stuff around the house and then shopping for my new wardrobe, which has been so much fun, as while I am not a shopaholic, I do like to be able to buy things when I see them and need them and the last 3 months that was not happening, well, I made up for it the past two days ;) My new clothes are mostly size 12 and that is incredible to me, this WLS journey has been something else and while I am still losing about a 1 lb. a month now, I am content to be where I am at, I think I can maintain this weight for the rest of my life and to that end, I am looking for a gym that I can go to on my way to work, seeing as I still wake up, most mornings, by 5 a.m., I could scoot out the door, take my work clothes with me, get my workout in and be at work by 9 a.m. That is my plan, we shall see what I find out and how it actually works, but I just don't ever want to be morbidly obese again and my surgeon had told me at the 1 year mark, that I must do what is sustainable for life from this point forward. . .
Well I think I will get off the computer now and take a book out back to my porch there and enjoy this beautiful morning!
I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Prayers, positive thoughts and hugs, Laureen

I don't think I've really posted for a couple of months since before yesterday. I have been keeping up reading every day but just didn't have the umph to write.
The weather is gorgeous finally and I have all of my porch plants potted.
My job is good. Husbands job is gone. He has been unemployed for a month now... I am trying not to panic but probably in another month or so I will be worrying.
Struggling with about a 6 lb weight gain and finding it very hard to get rid of it. Still walking daily on my treadmill.
Our newer dog, Bridget, has turned my husband into a dog lover which amazes me. She is a sweetie. Chews stuff up still, but we are really having fun loving her and she is such good company for old Newt the dachshund. In fact, Newt, who was always so afraid of Tom, now loves him too.
Well, as I reread this I see now why I don't post! BORING! lol
Karen C. Tom and I walked Bloomsday...won't say what our time was...
your traveling sounds so fun...I'm envious
Margo, have fun on your trip!
Connie, hope better days are ahead for you and yours.
Jeannie, hiking with friends sounds so fun, but the paper grading sounds not so fun.
Pat, sorry to hear about your increased workload.
Susan, hope they figure out what the heck is going on with your bleeding situation.
Laureen, again, congrats on the job and that is so great that you are still losing!
Jackie, have been so glad to hear your foot is getting better and you have been able to return to work.
Annette, have fun rowing, sounds hard to me!
Eileen, hope your aches and pains go away with nicer weather.
George, our household loves the Mariner's!
Oh, I forgot, I get today and Monday off! Whoo hoo!
Take care all,
Cheryl

I don't think of you life as boring....I think of it more as settled. If you ask me that sounds like a good thing. It is better to have a settled life than one of nothing but turmoil. At least I think so. It is better to look for the silver lining than to look at what you might think of as clouds.
Welcome back......you have been missed more than you know.
