TGIF-What's new?

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

It's cloudy and gloomy here, and looks like rain. I shouldn't be surprised; I woke up with a headache this morning. I woke up at 9 and went back to sleep; had a weird dream about my mom and woke up next at 11, way too late! So I'm really running a lot later than I'd like to be and my body's really hurting today. I have been feeling this storm coming for a few days but it wasn't forecasted, so I couldn't figure it out.

I had a tooth filled a couple of weeks ago, and now it's hurting me again, so I called the dentist yesterday. So now I have an appointment next Tuesday. I had to fill my antibiotics just in case he does something for that (for those that wonder why, I have an artificial knee, and they recommend you take antibiotics for any dental work just in case). So on my day off next week, I'll be at the dentist.

My brother Gary bought a computer yesterday. I'm glad; he's worried AIG will lay him off in June and he'll have to look for work. A computer will aid in that search. He's three years older than me. He works for the good AIG, the insurance arm and actually prints the policies. But all of AIG is tainted; they even changed their name back to American General and still no one wants to buy their life insurance anymore.

Well, I need to get off the computer and into the shower. Have a good day and a good weekend. I'm working both Saturday AND Sunday. Yuck.

Afternoon all! I hope that today is going the way that you would like for it to go. Mine is alright......better than this morning but not as good as I would like for it to be. But it is what it is.........

I saw Dr. Stanish yesterday and now he is going to do out patient surgery on Tuesday for this navel problem that I am having. He is going in and cleaning it all out and he said that it would be to uncomfortable for me if he did it in the office. I agree....because it hurts so dang bad and I just want it over with. I want to go on with my life and actually enjoy my life again. I want to have all this behind me and find somewhere to work and start a life that I like and not go on with this farce of a life.....I am tired of being stuck here and babysitting my navel! Well....enough of that garbage.

It is nice here. In the 70's and a slight breeze just beautiful in other words. I have the windows and the sliding door open and love weather like today. It is suppose to be like this most of the coming week too but with some showers on some days or evenings. Oh well.....you have to have a cloud in the midst of heaven!

Better get moving....so I will bid a fond farewell for now and remember that I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers going up for everyone too. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to spread some sunshine and happiness to someone today. Even if it with a smile......it is free to give but is worth so much to someone.

Hi Everyone,
Just getting home from an appt. with my surgeon.  I've reached that point in time where we hurry up and wait.  My dad used to say that all the time.  I'm clear for surgery.  I decided on the VSG.  And, I suppose everyone wonders if the choice they made was right.  But, after discussing all the other options, that seemed the best fit for me.  She anticipated that it might take as long as 4 weeks for authorization to come in, but my experience has been about two weeks to get authorizations done.  Her staff is slow to do all this, and I suspect that that is where the 4 weeks comes in, not with the insurance company.

Most everyone has plans for the weekend.  I wish you safe travel.  And, Margo you've big plans for travel that are most intriguing.  Brenda I'm glad you are getting your navel fixed and can move on with life.  Connie, I wish you well, and think of you so much.  George, you fascinate me.  You've got to move way beyond the speed limit to do all you do.  And, to all the others, I enjoyed reading your posts so much.  This board is truly a blessing.

Walking with you on this journey, Mary
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I just came home from jury duty.   I am finally done with the case and done for the next 6 years!  I did my civil duty and now I need a rest...

I'm jinxed.  I get called for jury duty every 6 months regular as clockwork.  So far not picked but I have to report again on the 28th.

I'd love to be called to jury duty.  I think it would be fascinating to see how the justice system works.  My husband has been called several times and once was picked for a murder case.  Just before the case started he was released.  He was both bummed and relieved.

I served on the grand jury of Lafayette Parish in Louisiana.  You are chosen to serve a 6 month period.  Since you do not render a verdict no one is excused.  Everyone that is call on that day has their name placed in a hat and they draw 12 jurors.  Out of several hundred folks my name was the third picked.  I really should have  bought a lottery ticket that day.  I heard some weird things and some very sad things during that 6 month stint.

I really wouldn't mind serving on a jury.  I just get tired of being called every six months, sitting around for hours, then being dismissed just in time for Houston's rush hour traffic.

Marcia, I have always wanted to be called for jury duty. I finally got the notice with the questions and filled it out and mailed it in but I never heard anything. I just want to be on jury duty so bad........that is why I will probably never get called.

2 whole weeks of traveling over 20 miles each way started getting to me.  I hadn't been called in years and this was the first time I was called for the criminal court.  It was really amazing!
