My dietian wants me to eat low carb and I just wonder if any of you have lost weight since surgery using the low carb diet?

i have to echo what barbara said-we need to watch carb intake for the rest of our lives now--the body needs good carbs but those come from veggies and fruits--
congrats on your losses!
congrats on your losses!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Kitty as far as i know we all follow a low carb diet and will for the rest of our lives. most Dr. suggest that even after we lose our weight that we keep the carbs to no more than 100.... and that is good carbs. I after 3 years out still adhear to the low carb way of eating. but instead of really obsessing over it i just know what not to eat i guess. NOTHING white is a good rule of thumb.

I don't eat pasta, rice, or white bread AT ALL. I don't eat anything with over 10 grams of sugar per serving except occasionally a little bit of fruit. I feel really yucky if I eat even a small amount of sugar. I do eat a bowl of Quaker instant "weight control" oatmeal every morning - it gives me good fiber without much sugar. I am almost 9 months post-op and have lost 92 lbs. - down from 208 lbs. to 116 lbs. I plan to keep my carb and sugar counts limited for the rest of my life.
