Howdy all!

Things are wonderful in my world.  My TEXAS RANGERS are in first place still and even have the best record in the American League.

Today they play the Yankees.  I am leaving work two hours early because I want to get some sleep before the gates open at 10AM.  And I will be there when they open.  There will be a pregame concert by Brandon Rhyder - some country singer.  Also, there is a swearing in ceremony for the Navy and also a flyover.  And then..... the game.  This is big.  This town is finally getting pumped up about the Rangers.

The weekend was good.  Did not do much really. Played a lot of on line poker.  Worked Friday night and Saturday morning.  Spent a lot of time with Mary.  Went to Sunday School and Church this morning.

So what did you do?

And what are your plans today.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

good morning George! I bet you are one happy guy this morning?  It's go great when a city has something fun and positive to get behind, especially when times are tough. Good for everyone, I say!

Yesterday we drove around the whole county looking at houses. We'd really like to build, but we have to stay in this county because of Gary's job. It's hard because of where I work, don't want to make my commute too much longer than it already is, so that limits things.  After we made our rounds from the list, we went to a Greek diner for some falafel and hummus. Yummmmm. Came home and started labeling bottles and jars for Saint Bella.

Not sure what the plans are for today, perhaps a movie. One thing's for sure, some cleaning is in order before we go anywhere!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day

Susan

Hi everyone....It seems I am always connecting with you all lately in hotel rooms. We are in Des Moines, Iowa. It was my oldest grandson's First Communion yesterday. So the whole family came in. You know what a blessing a big Iri****alian family is, we are loud and have lots of fun.

Of course just before we left town on Friday, two clients called, one wanted to write an offer, one wanted me to list their home. Lots of paperwork. I told them I would do it "on the road" and e-mail it to them.My girlfriend is going to do the "physical get-together" to sign the docs. So I have spent quie a bit of time on the computer, but thats okay.

My five little grandson's ALL have at least two sidewalk burns on them. They play very hard. They are 1,2,6,6,7...and my son's home is like a magnet for all the neighborhood boys....including the Dad's. He has built himself a "Man Cave" in his garage that is loved by all the guys. It is also nice as they little boys are in and out and no one cares.

My daughter-in-law, Aimee had orderd a big dump of mulch for her flower beds and didn't get it spread right a way, so the boys dug in it, made obstacles in it and road their bikes over it. She was forced to get it spread, so they all "helped" her with the wheel barrel. I personally sat on the deck with my computer and a glass of wine and watched them all afternoon. What joy!

Owen's communion was very special as he was the only one recieving it yesterday. His class had it the first weekend in May, but our family was doing the MS Walk in Madison.

It was wonderful, we had over 70 of Kathleen's friends and family come from all over to support her. Unfortunately, her disease is progressing faster than we would like, but she never complains and remains a very optimistic woman. She only worries about her future and caring for her little boys, 2 and 6, but she has a very wonderful husband and much support from friends and family.

Our daughter Sarah and her husband Kyle drove up from Dallas.
They have a 1 year old and a 2 year old ......AND she is pregnant!
so they will have 3 under 2....WOW, but I told her "you start late, ya' gotta hurry", but of course I worry about her as she always has gestational diabetes, and with her high BP she can never carry those big babies to full term......and she works full time at an intense job in computer software development. The babies go to a wonderful Montessori school that they rush to get inside to play everday. Sarah says they have alot more fun than they would with her at home, they have lots of people to take care of them and then she and Kyle are not worn out at night and just have fun with them for a few hours in the evening.

My Mother is "adjusting" to life in assisted living....or maybe the staff is adjusting to her. She did not get to be 93 years old without causing a little ruckus in everyone's life, and she can be quite charming...and if she wants to.....meaner than a junkyard dog, so she usually gets her way eventually. She kept threatening to leave so they put her on a locked unit, but she taught herself the code to get in and out. She said "It's not like it is difficult, they have to keep it simple for the staff" so she came and went whenever she wanted. So they moved her to an open unit, but she didn't have a shower in her new room....and low and behold within 2 weeks they were moving her again....which is no easy task as she has her room packed with furniture....to a room with a shower!

I miss talking to you guys, but this has been such a different year. I have been extremely busy in real estate, but it is different. This time I am dealing with banks more and while they are very nice, they are not very timely in returning paperwork, which is frustrating. We still have people that feel secure enough to still buy and sell, which is wonderful. Unfortuantely there are still divorces and job transfers that help keep us in business.

I do sneak in and check on you all every once in awhile, but never have time to write. I guess I'd better go and get my husband up as I can tell his alarm did not go off. He is playing golf today with a bunch of other family members and my daughter Kathleen and I are babysitting.

How I love my babies. That's why I was nearly floored when his other grandmother said that Owen is sometimes a little standoffish....because they throw themselves on me...and yesterday in church I got up to go to the bathroom [still one of the curses of this surgery for me.] and when I came back my daughter and son-in-law were in the back of the church with the one and two year old....and said "what a ruckus you caused".."Tess actually wept when you left shouting Nana Nana...and then the one year old starting crying in sympathy..so we had to take them out. OOPs.

TAKE CARE of yourselves....I miss and love you all.
Marti

It is so nice to see you, Marti, since I miss hearing from you.

Your life is certainly full but that is what makes life so much fun most of the time. But then again, it is nice to stop and smell the roses sometimes too.

You seem to be in heaven with the little trip that you and hubby are taking and that is great. There is nothing like the love of family. Enjoy those special times that you are all together.....and with the grands since they all seem to grow up way to fast.

Morning to you, George and all. I hope that everyone enjoys their Memorial Day and please make sure to thank a vet for their sacrifice given to us. This is the day that my Dad is on my mind for the day. Like he isn't on others....duh! But today is a special day for Dad. He was in WW2 for 4 years and was all over. He never spoke of his time during the war but many times you would see him and he wasn't here but must have been reliving his time overseas. He was taken POW during the Battle of the Bulge and escaped by the grace of God. So many did not.....I am so proud of this country and the things that we have gone through and we are still standing. What a blessing.

Well, today is a cookout at our nephews house. We were going to stay home and cook out by ourselves but they really wanted us to go and so Bill told him fine. I really don't feel up to going but I think most of that is just being lazy and not because of my stomach problem. ha ha  I am not sure what he is wanting me to take but knowing David nothing. He is very much a cook and loves to experiment with different recipes that he makes. He is doing great things with his recipes too. He is one that loves to get my idea on the things that he makes too. He is so funny. That reminds me that I am suppose to be making him some BBQ pork.......I promised him that and haven't done it yet. I must get that going. Hopefully after tomorrow I will feel better and be able to get it done soon.

I haven't heard from the hospital on when I am suppose to get to the hospital tomorrow. I just have a feeling that something is not going to go together and it is not going to be done. I am going to be pi$$ed if that happens because it would seem that the ball would have been dropped by Dr. Stanish's office. I just have the feeling that a couple of balls have been dropped by that office.........just me and my thought I guess. I just can't understand why he left this go for so long and never done anything.

I better get going. I hope that you all have a memorable Memorial Day and really enjoy the start of summer. Remember to smile and spread cheer to all around you and it will come back to you tenfold or more. I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers being said for everyone.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
