my mom got approved, thanks!
Many moons ago I came here to ask for advise about my mom and her surgery which was awaiting an approval. OHIP here needed more info. While it has taken some time, it did happen!!!!
YaY mom! and much thanks to those of you here who offered some insights into surgery for weight loss at a slightly advance age.
She will be 69 in July.

Thanks Ladies.
It was truly the advice of those of you here within the 50 and over board that gave my mom the strength to carry on when more information was requested from her. Knowing she is not alone is a biggie.
Hopefully I can teach her how to sign up and sign in so she can enjoy the camaraderie of fellow WLSers.

Aloha and thanks from coming back and letting us know about your mom. Another life enriched, saved and extended for many many years!!
I think we older women do exceptionally well with weight loss surgery. It sure has been my experience that those in their 50's,60's and even 70's seem to thrive and follow their programs to success with few complications.
My surgery was at age 63, and I'll be 66 in a few days. My life in those almost three years has done an about face. That's not to say I don't have problems....I certainly do.....but my heavy body is not one of them. My body now is slender and takes me places easily instead of dragging and holding me back. I wish your mom the best of experiences and have her come in here by all means........it will make her journey so much more fun to be shared with this wonderful group.
