WHAT WE ARE EATING AND WHATS EATING US WED

I think the problem was that I have been put on loads of iron for a ferritin level that is way low.  Of course we all know what iron does to the digestive system.....can you say constipation...bloat....etc.
I don't usually feel fat.  I seem to always have a realistic sense of where my body is.  When I was 90 pounds heavier I knew it and could "see" it.  As I lost I also knew it and could "see" it.  Being on the liquids today seems to have helped.  I also have edema so flushing out the system helps get rid of the retained fluid also.  I am much better now.  Thanks for caring.

Linda,

When I was visiting my mother yesterday, one of her neighbors rolled into the room (in her wheelchair), right up to Mom's bed, and started speaking very urgently.  I listened for a while but could make absolutely no sense of it.  It did consist of words in English, but it was word soup.  A little of this, a little of that, all stirred up.  Mom was pissed off at the interruption and started scolding the lady.  Finally I pressed the nurses' call button and someone came and took the lady away.  God bless the people who work at that nursing home and deal with that stuff all day long!

B: coffee protein shake
S: iced skinny latte
L: lamb satay, asparagus
S: cheese
D: Korean beef ribs, avocado & melon salad
S: fresh cherries

Good morning and great day!
Had an appt with my GP yesterday for the first time since surgery.  The bariatric surgeon wants her to start monitoring and following up more closely.  So I get lab work and see her again in a month.  She gave me a good pep talk and suggested stress counseling.  My insurance pays for a few visits so I'll take her up on that.  The thing she said that impressed me was that I don't want to fail at this and gain it all back.  I still have a ways to go and I need to get back on the program of journaling, exercising, low carbs.  This is my mission, it is possible and I choose to accept it.

We bought the Vegas tickets yesterday and I plan to spend time in a swimsuit while there.  That should provide further incentive.  I'm going to make friends with the gym at work again today and I'm walking with a friend after work tomorrow.

B coffee/Kashi/SF yogurt
L hot dogs/no bun
S protein bar
D salmon & vegies
S SF ice cream

Tomorrow I intend to report that I stuck to the plan.

CV....I am so proud of you, also you have everything in place that you need. Sometimes we just have to move out of our own way.
I pledged to be honest here, and this is what I do. I do not want anyone to look up to me,for we all have feet of clay.
One thing that has helped me is that my NUT told me if I am ever hungry, eat some dense protein,it sticks with you. Sometimes we do not eat enough protein,I have to constantly monitor mine, because I slide sometimes.
The best of luck CV,and please stay here, you all help each other and myself.
Huge Hug,you can do it!

Aloha beautiful Linda and other faithfuls who post here regularly (of which I am NOT)

Yesterday I had a strange eating day. Around noon I had a total CRAVING for onion rings! There is a Carl's Jr. just a little ways away, and I jumped into my little "Penny" and scooted over there, and ordered onion rings AND a "low carb $6.00 burger" which is basically a FAT hamburger with onions, tomatos, secret sauce (heaven only knows what is in that!), and wrapped in lettuce leaves instead of a bun. Well, I came home all bubbly and couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the onion rings with ketchup, of course. I hate TWO bites and was satisfied! Ha! I took two bites of the monster burger and that was enough.....put that way for later. Actually it turned out very well, because for dinner I took the lettuce leaves off the big burger, heated it up, and then wrapped it in the leaves again, and it was delicious! The onion rings went into the trash. Total insanity, right?

I guess it doesn't matter how we stay at our goal, just that we try to keep it healthy as possible. In the past I would have eaten ALL of the onion rings, all of the monster burger and had a bag of cookies to top it off!! Ha! Today I haven't gained an ounce, and feel just a little guilty but I didn't stray too badly, so I'm OK with yesterday's craziness.

You all keep me centered, and on track...most of the time. Thanks for that.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Hello lovely Karen, nothing wrong with craving, and wow! You handled it quite well. When I binged that one day, just on one object,I knew what I was doing,it was on purpose. Thank God it went right through me. I was depressed, the anger turned inward.
I am so grateful for my weight loss,I would sew my mouth up before I would gain that weight back.
If one more person tells me I lost too much, look for me on America's Most Wanted..heheh.
