hump day-again! - what's new?
this morning. Quite a thunder and lightning show, which I
love, but Fluffy cat heads for the basement!
Officially working 12 + hours a week now.....anyway I can get
the hours in is fine with the bank.
Having a carry in at work today for a birthday celebration.
I made 5 1/2 doz. oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies to take.
Took 1 1/2 doz. of them over to the young guy's home that
cleaned the eves out.....he has 3 kids - sure they will enjoy
them. Can't have them in the house.....ate way too many
when I was baking them --- bad girl.
Need to get my hair fixed and get dressed for work now.
Have a happy hump day.

Done! Your Ticker:
I was a bone head yesterday. Mary called to ask for help with the M&M's - she is sick. I showered and ran right up there. The kids and I played inside, outside and had a great time. At one point I grabbed a slice of turkey and a small drink. Kept on playing until time for work at 2:30.
Driving home around 6ish, I had trouble concentrating on driving. My head felt confused and I was getting bleary eyed. It was too long without enough food or water. I couldn't even make a decision to stop at a store. All I could manage was to drive home without hurting anybody.
Lesson learned: keep water and protein drinks in the car at all times. I may not feel hunger pangs but my body goes nutso without fuel.
Be careful!

Gray and gloomy again today. We had some rain last night but it was actually a nice day in the afternoon. My tooth is OK, just an inflamed nerve, the dentist says. So I took the antibiotics for nothing, because he didn't do any work. Five dollars down the drain. Oh well, I hope I killed some germs.
After the dentist, I decided to go to a movie after all. Went to see "Star Trek." Oh my, that was a lot of fun. If you're a Trekkie or a Trekker or whatever you want to call it, go see it. Or if you just want to see a fun movie, go see it. Very enjoyable. The guy who plays young Scotty is a real hoot.
After the movie, I came home and watched baseball, read my Time magazine and started on Sports Illustrated, watched the White Sox beat the Angels 4-2, then turned on the Rangers game (because they had a long rain delay), so I watched the end of that game, all the while reading my book in bed. So it was a very relaxing day.
Today, I have to go back to work. But first, the copy desk crew is taking out one of our own to a farewell lunch at the local brewpub. One of our crew took the buyout and his last day of work is Thursday, so we going to take him out for lunch today. I thought it was 11 and just looked at the computer clock ... oh, I have more time! It's only 10 a.m. I have a whole hour more to play on the computer.
Well, have a good day. Margo, sounds *like you're busy getting ready for your trip. I'm envious ... sounds like a wonderful vacation. Enjoy yourself.
morning...well the pool opens here today and ofcourse tstorms are supposed to be here this afternoon...figures...story of my life...always something to mess it up.
got laundry done yesterday and also the bedding so i am happy. went to mop the floor and found a crack in the bucket so now i need to go buy another one...sighs.
price of gas went up here to a whopping $2.65! just a couple days ago it was $2.27 so whats up with the big jump???? its uncalled for!!!! cost of my trip back to michigan is going up faster than i can save for it!!! GRRRRRR...9 more days and we are on our way to see mom!!! i can't wait to see her again!!! been since christmas that we last saw her.
still not seeing my sister online so she might still be in hospital. but then maybe her puppy chewed the cords again and she can't get online...
well off to shower and then out to pay a couple bills. bank balance is so low it scares me again. nope still no unemployment check to help us out. wish the work would pick up again so he could go back to work full time instead of a few hours here and there....we are thankful for those few extra hours but still would rather have him back to work full time.
ok enough now off to the shower and bills...have a good day and remember to SMILE!!!!! : )
Oh I sure hope you can get your laptop going Margo, you know we are as excited about your trip as you are( with out the packing baby sitter hassles, and cost) Boss is back today

So much happening with so many of you. Margo......I still am not sure what this trip is all about (Panama.......why? When? Where? Who?...in other words....what brought that on??) I hope you have fun and happy memories are made.
Sometimes I feel guilty with my slow paced, do as little as possible lifestyle when I hear of all that so many of you are doing. But, then I remember that life is CHOICES and I came from a life of constant stress, going, going and more going, and this is what I have chosen and it suits me. I have NO DESIRE to travel whatsoever!! I only take myself to the mainland to see grandbabies.........that makes it worth it. Anything else just doesn't seem worth the effort.....airports, packing, stresses, blah blah blah. I've turned into a vegetable....planted and growing nicely....ha. (actually shrinking nicely...LOL)
Yesterday I had my morning with the babies at the hospital...and that always gives me a glow seeing the new life and being able to greet them to the world. Yesterday I had a 10.5 pounder.......a darling local baby with LOTS of black hair and a face meant for smooching....Ha. I love them all......tiny, huge, beautiful, not so beautiful.......they are all very special.
Right now I'm doing laundry that has been growing for a couple weeks now and it was beginning to take over my tiny condo!! It was ME or the laundry, and the laundry has won. It will feel good to have to all folded, hung and put away. Ah, that's it for another couple of weeks.
Now that you've read my super exciting tale of my slug's life on Maui.....I'll say aloha for now, and that I love you all.......feel a closeness that is really like family, and hope that you all have a wonderful hump day....and the rest of the week.
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
