Linda,

The first time I ever heard the "Sweet Spot" term in the context of the lap-band, I thought, "Hey, what does the big O have to do with this?"

Katherine,I am sorry, perhaps I should have not said anything because I do not have a band. One of the great ladies in this forum (Jean),is.
She seems to adjust and respond to her body signals, which I think we all must do,as individuals.
In other words,it seems the greatest rule is that you run your own plate, you know yourself and body best.
If you visit the "What we are eating Thread",it may give you a better idea on how we manage our habits, and we do not have gurus who advise us. These guys are so loving and they have OH support people there.
I find this all interesting,my daughter had the RNY,my beloved step daughter did the banding, and sadly has not had much luck so far.
I really look forward to hearing more from you as we are on the same journey, just using different vehicles...

Linda, thank you for responding directly to me - I have been reading and admiring and sometimes participating in your "what are we eating" posts each day.  You're an inspiration -
you and Jean and Kate.

I am definitely responding to my body signals, now that I know what they are, thanks to you
great ladies.

Katherine, I'm glad you were able to get a few ideas of what "Restriction" feels, sounds and looks like from a few other folks. That Green Zone is tough to master and after each fill you have a trial and error period all over again. I agree, it's not too sweet. But each of us works our band in the only way we know how that works for us. It's such a personal journey with so many variables.

Good luck!
Tiffany

Hey sounds like you are a great lady too...smile. I love this forum, some of the nicest people ever, wouldn't mind them sitting right in my living room.
A few of them welcomed me when I was pretty new,and answered questions, they give good support and honesty.
This is my warm, safe place, and yours too!

What is really strange to me, is that when I am compulsively overeating I can eat too much and it not really make me feel satisfied.  When I eat like I am supposed to and plan my eating and stick to the plan, I can actually taste the food and get satisfied.  3 meals and 3 snacks works well for me.

I am not at all good with chicken so am trying to stay away from it.  The gurgling to me is definitely a sign to stop.  I hate getting stuck!!!

Jeane,

I know what you mean about eating compulsively and never feeling satisfied.

I finally realized that my compulsive eating has nothing to do with physical hunger and satisfaction.  It has to do with all kinds of other stuff going on in my brain and heart.  There isn't enough food in the world to fill the hole inside me.
