Good Morning OFFr's,

Can it possibly be I am here first?  Well it will be nice to hear what you all are up to. . .

Well it's Friday and I know I am looking forward to the weekend, my last paycheck from my old company is in my account and my new job has summer hours on Friday's, so if you get in 1/2 early, take 1/2 lunch (or none) you get to leave at 3:30 or 4:00 depending on needs and whatnot.  They provide breakfast on Friday's and have a refrigerator stocked with beers and a cabinet of liquor (lol), not that I'll be inbibing that, but it's nice to see they have a relaxed attitude, because from what I am learning, it can be intense at times, I think I might find out how so next week, but in short I have enjoyed my first week being back in the working world and in case I haven't said it before, I just love the commute!

Hopefully, it stops raining, because I have plans with my DIL and grandchildren tonight to go to a local carnival they have in my town at the end of every May, so Mr. Sunshine please come around!

Have a great day!

Hugs, Laureen

Hi,

Ok, I have been trying to figure out what your job is and I think I'm stuck.  Who provides breakfast and happy hour lol?

Today is another volunteer day.  I will be copying charts most of the time.  Fridays are slow otherwise.  Tomorrow is the Music and Arts festival in Shinglehouse so that will be fun.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Lol. . .  I am an executive legal secretary, working in corporate bankruptcy. . .  so you can imagine the level of intensity that can be involved within that ;)

Little Sis ~ your working conditions sound very good.

Tom's car is in the shop. It began to over heat, he kept driving and made it worse. Couldn't be late for golf night? Geeze  What was he thinking?

I spent over three hours on the phone with medical providers in an attempt to clear up my insurance mess. This has been a nightmare but it looks like things are getting resolved. Hooray for that.

Our very pudgy Isabella has become so fat. If she were human I'd sign her up for WLS. None of the others have a weight problem. Some how I have to slim her down. That's rather difficult with 7 cats in the house. If the food dishes are empty, all the others cry and pester for food.

Kisses
Annette

Laureen, your job sounds interesting.....how fun they let you off early on Fridays....and provide breakfast and drinks.  The bank where I work is very "laid back" and Fridays are casual....a couple weeks ago you could "pay" to wear jeans and the money went for Relay for Life,
don't know how much they raised but nearly everyone was in jeans.  There is food around a lot, and any excuse to have a carry in lunch is popular.....I try to stay in my office and not venture into where the food is!!

Today is payday and that's good......since I am on social security, I did get my little "stimulus ck" yesterday......don't think $250 is going to go far these days......gas here is $2.59 up about 30 cents in just the last week, and everytime I go shopping, prices have gone up again.  Don't get me wrong, I am happy for the extra $$.

Will probably clean house this afternoon and then don't really have any plans for the weekend.....may go do some visiting.   My BIL had some skin cancer surgery yesterday and he is also getting ready for chemo on the lymphoma that has returned....I feel so bad for him and keep him in my prayers everyday.

Better get on the exercise bike now.  Was glad to find out Brenda is having her procedure today, when we didn't hear from her I was really concerned.

Aloha Annette....Glad to hear your insurance mess is getting sorted out.

I had to laugh at your "fat cat." I have one, too............St. Nicholas (Nicky). He is as wide as he is long.....and little Miss Popoki (Poki), is slender and svelte and she eats like a HORSE! I have just decided I'm not going to worry about it........Nicky is a happy kitty and seems to be healthy, so I let him live his life. It's a whole lot better than the hundreds of kitties I see in the cane and pineapple fields who often end up on the highway.....so so sad.

Thanks for the morning chuckle!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Good morning Laureen and everyone....

Just checking in quickly. I have to go to our corporate office in St. Paul this morning.Meetings all day...UGH!!

I spoke with Kyleigh (granddaughter) last night. She sounded happy and she said she is being treated well. She has made some new friends and school is working out fine. I sure do miss her....a year away is a long time!!

Laureen... sounds like you have a good job and some great people to work with. I am so happy for you.

Pat...prayers for your BIL are coming his way.

Annette....you always have me giggling over your cat stories!!

I need to get ready and be on my way. I will try to check in at some point later today.

Special prayers to those in need. Have a good day everyone!

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Hi Laureen and all,

Yay, it's Friday. Last weekend I had Friday and  Monday off so finally got off my lazy patootie and cleaned my house. Got the bedrooms back in order after Tom finally finished his restoration project and I feel like a new person. I will just vacuum and do laundry and groceries this weekend.

I had also gained some nasty lbs and since my house has been in order, I have been able to stick to a good for me food plan and have lost 4 of the 10 in just this week! I also started to "jog" a bit on the treadmill, I have only ever just walked and I think that while it kills me and I  HATE it, it has really helped.

I just need to stay on this path and I will be OK. I really think that when my house is a mess, I am a mess. I think my creativity may also return now that my space is more peaceful.

Our weather has been gorgeous and I am loving it too!

Laureen, your job sounds interesting....I go in a half hour early and take an hour lunch...I go in early because I'm up anyway and they won't let me leave early so I take an extra long relaxing lunch.

Jeannie, what is the good book you are finishing?

So, Annette, you have a "fat cat." Little joke there, uh...very little....
No, seriously, I don't know how you would put her on a different food plan than the others, sounds like a huge challenge. Good luck!

I am so jealous of Karen C getting to go to Hawaii and see Maui Karen! Have fun you guys and give each other a hug from me!

Take care all,
Cheryl

      Cheryl,
If Izzy would do some aerobics she wouldn't be so 'Rubinesque' - that's the same advice I heard for so many years. Shame on me.

It is good to see you stop in.

Kisses
