Female Coffee Drinker Good morning Candy. I'll join you with the coffee.
I was reminded of how difficult life was as an obese woman. We went to the second recital. Mary's mother-in-law is quite heavy. The chairs in the auditorium were too snug for her and she was too warm. I sat and froze. The elevators were too crowded so we took the stairs - 4 flights up, then a long walk to the parking lot. Poor woman was flushed and panting; the climb was too difficult for her. I pulled her aside and said "let's rest". That was me 3 years ago and I could empathize 100%.

The rowing machine is waiting for me to get busy. I don't ever want to be heavy again. This will take work and effort ... forever.

Kisses

good morning! i have been awake ssveral times and thought of starting the thread but simply did not get out of bed! didn't want to wake michael...

this panama trip is interesting...different... and i am really not sure how i feel/what i feel....so- i will save my "report" for when i can focus my thoughts....i can say that the lush foliage makes me miss hawaii!!!!!i love the mangoes and papaya abundant here and bananas!!!!! not having to have a/c is wonderful- tho i wish there were a ceiling fan or something in this cabana!!!!we slept with the window open last nite- has been a long time for that -at home the allergens prohibit that and then the heat! andi don't like having to have all of our meals out but we are enjoying the company at the restaurant next door- haven't ventured to try any other-a bit leary!

getting to bathrooms is a bit of a challenge-most places do not have public restrooms and the places that do are few and far between on the road!

we drove to Dolega yesterday-about a two hour drive- and met a wonderful man (79 years old) who has lived in panama 18 yrs before that costa rica and mexico and louisiana...come to find out he was born in toledo ohio and his mother is from oak harbor-which is 8 miles from our house!!! and his grandfather owned property along the portage river between elmore and oak harbor--we lived on his grandfather's farm property at our last house!!!!! do we hear twilight zone music????so cool- anyhow -he was a very interesting man to speak with and i got some great insight to moving to a 3rd world country--with all of michael's health issues ...i am not thinking positively of this...but the vote is still out...

protein is an issue- i am carrying bars and have some packets of drink mix....last nite; i needed comfort and had spaghetti for dinner- i know- carbs but i needed comfort!

not sure what is on today's agenda...tomorrow we travel back down to dolega and boquete for the day....i think we are trying to find the (local) estate coffee farm today--they are everywhere but most are not open to the public...this one is and ships worldwide...

i struggled to find postcards-my mother wants me to send to my nephew- have no clue how to mail said cards!! if we lived here i do but not as a tourist!

our camera yesterday took "whitened" pictures-maybe cuz the sun was so bright????we think we may have fooled with a setting so we are hoping it's better today...lots of pics taken but most wouldn't meanmuch tomost of you--no offense meant by that! when we get home i will try to set up a photobucket acct or something so i can share with all...

i need to hit the shower so i'll say bye for now...
hugs and prayers

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Well, coffee and carbmaster yogurt for me this morning.
Sounds like Margo is having a 'good?' time.  Anyway, it's an adventure.  I hope you settle down Margo and really enjoy the trip.
It's dull and dreary here today.  Supposed to rain.  I really should start pulling the wallpaper from my kitchen, but just can't stand the idea of all that work.
GM declaired bankruptcy this morning.  Who'd have ever thought?  Certainly not me.  I gave my whole career to that company.  I just hope they don't take my health care away from me.  At least until I get my WLS.
Well, have a great day today and try to find something to laugh about.

Hi Candy, Annette and Margo:

Can't believe hardly anyone else has posted ... I am not up this early! I mean, I went to bed at 1:30 a.m. ... not really that early for me. I was in bed early enough ... 10 p.m. ... but read until after midnight to finish up my book, "The King's Grace." Good book. Now I have to find another. I have plenty that I picked up in the book sale, one of the perks from working at the Press, good cheap books.

Margo, your trip sounds fascinating. I'd be wary of living in a 3rd world country with health issues (and I have plenty of them, but not as many as Michael, I'm sure). The coffee farm would be something I'd be interested in visiting. How strange to find someone from your own area down there! Small world. Can't tell you how often that has happened to me. When I moved to Grand Rapids, I was buying a La-Z-Boy at a store here and was relating my story to the clerk ... told her I had lived in Anaconda, MT and she said her aunt was an English teacher there. So I asked her what her aunt's name was. She said Peggy Walsh; I said I knew her (from the high school ... I knew a lot of people because I worked at the newspaper). I told her next time she talked to her aunt to tell her she met me in Michigan. It truly is a small world.

Annette, I still don't take the stairs ... too hard on my knees. I've had to go down stairs during fire evacuations at work (no big fire, but there was some smoke in the press room, or so they thought, so we all had to get out, and couldn't use the elevators) ... that was last year, and I actually did OK despite a lot of pain in my right knee. But going up would be really difficult. But I understand the tight squeeze in the seats. I used to be so uncomfortable in movie theaters and other theater seats and ballpark seats; now it's so much more comfortable. Of course, now I can't afford to go to the theater and the ballpark!

It's raining and my body is not happy with the weather. I'm going to go to the chiropractor today; my back and shoulders were miserable yesterday and I really need an adjustment. So I'm off to the shower and then to the chiropractor. Then I need to get a couple of cards. Not much else going on. I'm off for the day. Just hangin' around the house, watching baseball tonight and relaxing.

Have a good day.
