HOW MANY CALORIES?????
If you are talking to maintain, and I believe you are, you are going to get lots of different answers, probably from 800-1800. Not only is every doc different, but so is everybody that has the WLS. It depends on you. Just an example, my wife can maintain at about probably 1200-1400 calories, however, if she eats eggs, chicken or pork, she gains. The reason being, for some reason her body does not process corn fed food as quickly as the normal person. Her doc says, in a way, she is "allergic" to anything cornfed. This makes sense, because she was raised in Spain, where the animals are not cornfed.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
I'm pretty sure I had my surgery on a different planet. Never counted calories. Just the one time to see what I was taking in.
My launch instructions were: less than 6g sugar per meal. Mainly protein. And protein supps (made with water) per day. 60g in the 90's, then 90, then 120 and I just prefer 180g protein supps.
So, 15 yrs later, I do appx 1000 in protein supps and appx 1000 in food. I think I could add another 2000 in protein and not change a thing.
However, add 300g in trashy carbs and I'm wondering why my pants don't zip. How do I know this?
I weigh on a Tanita periodically and it still says I need 1100-1200 to maintain my wt. Ok. Whatever. I still do my 180g protein supps, and whatever foods that appeal to me, heavy on the protein/veg/fruit, light on the num-nums.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
I'm not a RNY'er but most of our support group are. We have most of the same info with it being a little different right after surgery. I have about 80 pounds left to lose too. Our center has us at 1200 cal. Our protein is at 60 to 90 grams per day. This is for losing and will be adjusted when getting closer to goal. The data says I should be able to get to goal in one year eating 1800, YA RIGHT!
