It's a warm and very muggy Sunday morning here in southwest Michigan......I was up before the birds this morning, if you can believe
that.  Need to be at church by 7:15 for bell practice before service.
This is our last Sunday to play until Fall.

Post away fans!

I was up before the birds sweetie (4 am) thanks to the noisey fishing guys on the corner ... grrrrrr.  I haven't been outside yet but I am in central Ohio so it is probably the same weather.  I think we have a chance of T-storms later today.

Thank goodness it's Sunday!!  A day off is just what I need. Gary, poor guy, had to work for three hours this morning, from 6:00-9:00 doing random drug tests on his charges, so I hoped to sleep in, but no go.  Going to put some color on my hair, shower it off, then go to Wally world before it gets too crazy. Kids are coming for Saint Bella-ness this afternoon and then dinner. I found a recipe for a "Marvelous Meatless Chili" in a magazine yesterday that I'm going to make. SUPER high in proten and fiber, very low in fat, quite a lot of carbs though(of course, it's nothing but beans!), so if it's any good I'll post itl.

Yesterday was the most FUN!  Gary came by the salon while I was working, finishing up a client before lunch. He said he had something in the truck to show me, so out we went. Teasingly I said "is it a puppy?"   Thank goodness it wasn't....had enough of my house being eaten. Anyway, he takes me to the back of the truck, drops the tailgate, and there is a BICYCLE!!!!  Big fat tires, big fat seat (for my skinny little butt), a little rust here and there, but for $15 at a yard sale, it's otherwise in great shape. He took it out of the truck and said I should take it for a spin around the parking lot. Girls, I haven't been on a bike for, oh, at least 35 years, so needless to say I was a bit hesitant. Yep, I was quite nervous, went about 30 feet and got off, walked it back to the truck and had him adjust the seat, and got back on and rode all around the parking lot, more than once, enjoying the feeling of freedom, the wind in my hair and the joy of just being able to DO IT!  I will need some more time in parking lots and a helmet before I'm brave enough to journey around our neighborhood, but what a gift he gave me.

Gals, the tendonitis in my elbow is really bad. Woke me a few times during the night, so I might not be around for a few days. MUST stay off the computer and give it a rest.

Love and hugs to all

Aloha Susan......What a terrific surprise your husband gave you!! Now THAT is the kind of bike I think I might actually ride! Those skinny wheeled, tiny seated kind don't appeal at all!! Have fun with that.

Hey, I have tendonitis (sp) in my shoulder and have had three cortisone shots for it. Would that help your elbow? Doc said if I have more pain I will need an MRI, but so far the cortisone has worked great, plus an occasional hydrocodone.

Now if I just don't break my dang fool neck, all will be fine  LOL

As far as the elbow goes, I  ( can, according to my surgeon) take some motrin and it helps, but I take so many pills now for supplements, etc, the thought of taking one more is beyond me. This has been going on for about a month now, so maybe if I stay off the computer and don't fill any bottles it will get better. Much longer, though, and I will see the doctor. AGHHHHH

Try to get a brace ... it's a little brace that velcros right below your elbow. I had one for awhile just before I had knee surgery because I had some tennis elbow (from computer overuse). After being off for 6 weeks, it was gone. But you can get the brace at any store.

Thanks, Eileen.

I meant to get one today when I went shopping at Wally world, but since it wasn't on my list, it didn't get into my cart...LOL

I'll put it on my "things to do" list for tomorrow. Glad to hear it will help.

It's been in the 60s and 70s for the last couple of weeks.  Nice.  We get summer a little later than most up here in hill country.  We live in a very beautiful county and I love the seasons.

Not alot planned today.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Good Sunday morning to you Pat and I am sure happy to see you start the thread this morning. I am betting that your bell choir sounds like a bit of heaven. I love to hear them.

Susan, I am sorry to hear about the tendonitis. I am going to miss you not being on here but I certainly do understand. Rest is one of the best things for it. Hope you feel better really soon.....you will be missed.

Nothing much is happening here today. The visiting nurse is coming sometime. I am sure that she will be calling sometime on a time that she will be here. I had a nurse yesterday that was new and another one today. Dave, the one from yesterday was really nice and I had a nice little visit with him. He is so different from Erica my usual one. I am betting the one today is going to be different from all of them too. It is nice meeting them but I will be glad for the day that Heidi can come and do it herself and the nurse just comes at times. I am just not comfortable with Home Health...it seems like something that is suppose to be for others and not for me. Since I use to do it maybe that is one of the reasons too. Who knows......

It is cloudy this morning here in NW Indiana. But it is suppose to warmer and wet today...oh boy just can't wait for that to happen. I don't mind it if it is wet and cool but when I hear wet and warmer I think of humid and I hate that word! But again...it is what it is.

I am hoping to do a bit of laundry today. I don't have much to do but I want to strip the bed and do the mattress pad and the comforter too. And of course flip the mattress but this time it is Bill that is going to flip it by himself. I am not going to take the chance of doing anything.

I guess I should get going. I want to take a shower before the nurse comes too. I promised Erica that I wouldn't take a shower every morning so I am taking one every other day. I hate that......I like a hot shower every morning. But I must compromise sometimes.......I have to remember that! I am sending everyone a bit big old hug and love to go with it. I am saying prayers for all too. Have a wonderful day and remember to spread the joy in your life to others.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Dear Brenda....Keep taking care of that healing belly button. Soon the visiting nurse and the hassle of surgery will be a dim memory, and you will be gorgeous!! Eye on the prize!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen
