Hi Kat! It is nice to hear from someone so close to me here in the Hooiser State! Sounds like you have it all together girl! Being 9 years out and not having to have a revision that is wonderful! I hope you post here more often as I am no longer reading the Indiana board postings. I am trying to ween myself off being on the computer so much. It is difficult since I am living in an apartment complex to stay off of this thing. I can't get out to work in the yard because the yard is not mine. It gets rather boring here and when I get bored I can chose to eat or do the computer. I have been choosing both of the things I just mentioned. Now I am trying to cut back alot on both. I hope you continue with the success that you told us about in your profile! Keep coming back and posting since you have really postive things to say! Thanks for sharing! Michelle

Hi Kat:

I'm nearly 5 years out, lost 180 pounds, kept it off ... it took nearly three years for me to get there, but I'm maintaining pretty much at 170 pounds, more or less. I agree with you, it was the best decision I ever made. I have not had PS; I have had two knee replacements on the same knee (Feb. 2007, Dec. 2008 revision) and after dealing with that pain, don't think I want any more elective surgeries. I'm still not sure the second knee replacement has worked, but it's only been six months, so I guess I have to give it some time. Right before I had the knee replacement, I was looking into PS, but decided on the knee surgery instead.

It's good to know there are success stories like yours nine years out. My mother told me when I started on my journey that I would gain it all back, because she had seen so many of those stories on TV (that's all TV will show, is the failures). So everytime I gain a pound or two, I hear that voice in the back of my head ... "You'll gain it all back" ... and I get scared straight and make sure it doesn't happen.

Hi Kat!

I've always loved the sound of your city's name -- Kokomo!

I'm over 2 1/2 years post op and maintaining now.  Just have to do the program, one step at a time!  It's encouraging to see you and hear about your long term success!  Nice to meet you.
