Good Monday Morning all! What's new with you?
Eddie's team got their butt whupped. 11-0 and 11-3. Of the 22 runs they gave up, 9 of them were on passed balls or wild pitches. Really bad. Eddie did good in the field, did not make an error the entire weekend.
They played a game yesterday against the team that beat them 11-0. The first two games were the pool games to seed teams for the bracket play. So they got to play the same team in the bracket play. Lost 3-2, with two runs scoring on a wild throw to first base, with two outs.
One more tournament left. It will be July 10-11. They will play at the miniature park next to the Rangers Ballpark. It is really a fun venue.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
i actually hit the snooze button as many times as i could get away with this morning!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I can relate to the dog knocking you over thing. I don't know if you saw my post last week talking about my dog when I got back from NY (I was gone 5 days). Flyte wagged his tail so hard that he hit something with it and cut the tip of his tail off. Blood was flying everywhere. We had to put an icepack on it for about an hour to stop the bleeding.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
no i am sorry i didn't see about flyte-awwwwwwww i'm sorry about his tail...is he ok now???? brody does a number with his tail -knocking things off of tables etc...
our internet connection was poor while we were gone so i didn't read all of the posts like i like to....
your vaca was restful-mine was stressful..i am so glad to be home....for now!

I hope that everyones week end was good. I bet it was better for you Margo, with being home now. I will be waiting to hear of your trip but make sure you take Margo time first. We will still be here when Margo is ready.
George I am sorry that the baseball games didn't go like usual. I am not a big baseball fan...but of course do follow the progress of my beloved White Sox! I love that team..they are the greatest. No matter what they do. So many people around here think the Cubs are the beginning and the end...boy are they barking up the wrong tree! So wrong.....
It is cloudy and drizzly today. It is a bit on the chilly side too. I am not sure what it is going to be like today since I didn'****ch the news last night. I have Morning Joe on now so there isn't weather on there. I will catch it later on in the morning.
I am so mad that I could just spit! Bill got paid on Friday and they deposited about half his check. He called and was told that there would be a paper check waiting for him when he got to work on Friday. He gets to work and he is told that it will be deposited in the account on Monday morning. Well guess what!? As you probably have guessed it isn't there. Bill is calling his district manager and telling him that he is tired of this. Bill asked him why it happens all the time and he hemmed and hawed around and told him that it sometimes happens. Well it seems to happen more than sometimes if you ask me. I don't see what part of 80 hours they can't figure out. The last time this happened was a couple of months ago. I told Bill I think there is a law against this. Does anyone know? He is suppose to be in a union but they have never taken out dues and the rep never returns calls either. I think this company that bought the last company is just as must shysters as the last company was.
I guess I should get moving. I am sending love and hugs to all this fine Monday morning. I have prayers being said for all and I have one bit of information for you all....happiness is like planting flower seeds...it spreads more happiness around. Spread some happiness seeds around while you go about your day.
Getting ready to go up and do the treadmill, and then get ready for work and go.
Took Beth over to the Coast, Seattle, on Saturday, back and forth in one day. Long day driving. She has a camp counselor job over there this summer. First time she will be far from home for this long...and her boyfriend will be in Alaska and abroad for the summer so we had tears this weekend.
Not too much new here...weather has been so nice, we have had some cooler days but still nice. Some thunder and lightning too.
George, I had greyhounds years ago and one got the very tiny tip of her tail hit by the screen door, but we didn't know it. Got home and the WHOLE house was speckled in blood drops. I mean the WHOLE house...not a big wound...just lots of blood and she was a big tail wagger. What a nightmare trying to clean up and for years after we would still find places we missed. Yuck. Poor doggie.
Margo, glad you made it home safe and sound.
Brenda, sorry you are feeling crappy still.
Take care,
Cheryl

We got back from Kansas late yesterday evening. DH and I left my grands with my son so our trip back was quiet. I didn't want to leave them but my daughter was all for it and my son and his wife have this week planned full of activites that will keep the little ones busy. I am going over my dissertation one more time. I know, how many times does it take to go over something, and I am turning it into my committee and will set my defense for next May. I have three more years of funding, but another University near here is wanting me to run their writing program, so I need to be ready to take that position in the fall of 10. Plus, hubby and I are looking at some land halfway between where that university is and this one. There's a huge stretch of mountains and we want about ten acers. The land we are looking at has never been touched. We will have to have loggers come in and take down a few of the trees. The ten acers that we want is among a two hundred acer area so the owner is getting it surveyed into five acer areas. He said it'd take about a year, which is what I need to get defended and hired. We spent our ride home planning what we are going to do with the ten acers. I only want an area cleared big enough for a house, he doesn't want it to look like a forrest. LOL. We will be living on the edge of the Ozark national forrest and he doesn't want a wild look. He is too weird.
Today, I am doing research for a conference paper that I am going to present in San Antonio in April of next year. That usually takes all day. It's going to rain here so no walking nor riding the bike.
George, I know what you mean about your animals being so excited to see you; my kitty was so excited that we were home that she couldn't wait for me to sit down before she jumped in my arms. My friend house sits for us and she gets plenty of attention, but she sure does miss us. When I went to bed, hubby was lying on the sofa watching TV and kitty was on top of his belly all stretched out.
Well, that's it for me. Hope you guys have a good day.

You're up too early for me. I'm asleep at the time you're up and about. I'm really a night owl.
I stayed up to watch the ESPN baseball game, then read in bed til about 1, about which time I had a headache. Woke up this morning at 9:50 with another headache and a bunch of thrashing about in the house. Gee, what have the cats gotten into now? Well, Scooter was on the bed next to me, so it must be Nettie. Then I heard voices. Well, maybe it's outside. Next thing I knew, I heard voices inside the house ... then in my hallway. Then my cleaning lady was in my bedroom. "Oh, Eileen, I thought you were going out of town this weekend." "No Patty, it's next weekend (meaning this coming weekend.)" She was there with her oldest daughter, and they had been hauling in buckets and cleaning supplies to get my house cleaned before I came home ... except I was already home. Oops. She misunderstood. Oh well, she'll come back this weekend.
Not only do I have a headache, but my tummy has been acting up all morning. Could be the nuts I had last night while I was talking to my brother on the phone. He went down to see my mom for her birthday (she saw 3 of her children over the weekend ... even Rosemary, my sister, wonder of wonders!). Gary took mom to Red Lobster, which she loves but doesn't go to often because she thinks it's too expensive (she's a Denny's fan). So she enjoyed that. I'm going down on Saturday, staying til Monday. I have some books I got from the book sale (she'll think I spent too much, but I got about six books for $2 or $2.50 apiece, so it's a steal, and the money goes to charity.) Anyway, my tummy isn't good today, so instead of coffee, I'm drinking peppermint tea, trying to calm it down.
George, your Rangers are doing well. My Sox really stink at times, then they start playing well. Don't know what's the matter with them. Yesterday, Bartolo Colon couldn't keep the ball in the park. It was disgusting.
Margo, it's great you're home. I know your trip was a disappointment, but I still want to see the photos. I'm sure your furbabies/birds were happy to see you; I know when I'm gone, my kitties miss me (although they greet me, then ignore me). My now deceased cat, Cinnamon, used to jump into my arms when I'd come home from a long trip, he'd miss me so much. These two just shed a lot.
I'm off today, so just hanging around the house, hoping to feel better. The Sox play a doubleheader unless there's rain in Chicago. They play Detroit, so they better get their act together and play better than they did over the weekend.
Have a good day.
