They are gaining up on me.

That's what I thought.  I thought they could fix my ulcer and do the body lift.  My wls surgeon said no way.  First, he wants to see if we can heal the ulcer without sugery because he said that doing a revision is risky.  He also said that a revision would add to the weightloss albeit only temporarily.  He suggested that we put a tube into my intestine through my belly and while I sleep, a pump will pump high calorie and high fat milk into me and then during the day, it's off of me and I can munch on other things.  He said that would heal the ulcer by letting the pouch rest and all of that.  As far as the plastics and the risk of the respirator, the plastics guy said that he doesn't forsee that kind of problem because he isn't really going into any of my body cavities except down to my abdomonial muscle where he will repair a hernia.  He said the trauma of opening up the body cavities and the amount of medications for that are what risks the lungs.  I don't know.

I am working on gaining weight.  It's a different mindset that we have and in such a short period I lost so much weight and all I thought about every single day was not to **** this up.  Now, I am being told to gain twenty or so pounds.  That's about two or three pants sizes.  I am sure I will do what they say, it's just hard to eat all the crap she wants me to eat.  I am, though, adding calories to my cream of wheat by putting in butter and even peanut butter to bulk it up.  I add protein powder to my cottage cheese and about gag but get a half of cup of that down.  I am trying, it's just I hate the protein powder crap.  I hate it all.

Thanks.

Jeannie my friend,
One thing I have found though the years of research and I have done lots and supporting others that go thru PS and mine also is that when they say they have X number of pounds of skin to remove, it really doesn't (don't ask me why) take from your pounds of weight. When I had mine done in 02 they removed 14# of skin, but yet, I still weighed the same as when I went in. There will be some bloating and swelling but after that is gone, usually 6 months, your still about the same weight as  you went in. Your just not as baggy. Before going in for the surgery make sure you overload on protein shakes to build up the nutrition and keep it up for awhile. The supplemented protein also aids in the recovery and healing.

My opinion, mine alone, anyone can slam, bang, or yell at me.

Good luck...

Then why are they freaking out about twenty ******g pounds?  That ****** me off.  I could have the plastics now.  If I can get my wls surgeon on board, I'll change my pcp to one who will work with me.  My friend called a guy in Houston and his people said that they don't care about the weight as long as any doctor will clear me for heart and lungs.  So, that's what I'm doing.  The guy in Houston can do everything but the face.  I'm thinking of switching all around and just getting it done and **** on my pcp.

Oh, and you are, by far, the smartest person on this board and I trust your information as taking to the bank.

Boy, Darlene...THANKS!!!!

I went in for PS at 160 and they took 16#'s. I saw 148 ONE day... and have sat almost consistently at 152... which is where I was in 2006...

I pulled my original paperwork from the surgeon and he has my goal weight at 150.5.

I'll take being almost 5 years out at 152.

How ya doin'?

I would find another dietician who is not such an anal person.  She may have forgotten that you are paying her salary and she has no business discussing your case with your husband.  I know you can kick butt if you want to and this woman needs an attitude adjustment or just fire her.  About the surgery, I don't know why you had problems, but I would make sure I had built up my strength before attempting any new surgery.

Good Luck

Pat

Girl, I am strong.  I bike about ten to fifteen miles a day and walk five miles three times a week.  Plus, I'm doing belly and ball room dance lessons with my gay friend and we have a blast.  The belly dancing is hard on my knees and I am not good at it, but I kick ass with the ballroom dancing.  My gay guy and I are the envy of all the couples.  We are too hot.  LOL.

I am doing my best to nutrition up and I'll have the plastics one way or the other.
