What's happening Tuesday

When I had my bone density scan at my OB/GYN in April, it was interesting to find out that caffeine and carbonation leach calcium from our bones. I didn't know that. I have a couple cups of coffee a day, but also one diet pop a day. The nurse/tech told carbonation is actually worse than caffeine. Since I had to cut out something for finances, I decided it would be the diet pop. Not that I have that much of it anyway, but why risk it? I'm going back to drinking mostly water (which is my drink of choice anyway) during the day.

Phyllis, as for your problem, can you take the calcium citrate in liquid form? Or the calcium crystals?

Hi Eileen,

Yes, I have tried those with the same result. I tried the liquid when MMPC started us on calcium. The powder I tried this past spring, the chiropractor down the road had samples and gave me some to try. I seem to have a very sensitive system, probably from FMS from the things I have read.
Thanks for the suggestions though, I take all and any that might help. If you hear of anything else please let me know.

I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

Today, I'm taking my kitty to the vet for her annual shots.  I dread it because every single time I take her to the vet, even if it's to get her nails filed and clipped, he gripes about her weight gain.  I know our pets are not supposed to be obese, but she cries if her bowl is empty and I cannot stand to see her unhappy.  Oh well, maybe he won't gripe too much.  I wish I could let her go outside for some out side exercise, but I live on a very busy street.

My dh and I are planning one more mini vacation before I start teaching at the end of this month. I dread, double dread, teaching.  I wanted to take the entire summer off but we cannot really afford it.  Anyway, we are thinking of renting a cabin up on one of the beautiful mountains here and just relaxing.  We even talked about totally isolating from our friends and kids by turning off our phones and leaving my laptop at home.  I might last a day.  LOL

The lawn guy is coming today.  He is a head injury veteran and we pay him very well to mow our lawn and keep the shurbs cut.  I can do it myself and did last year, but he came by a few weeks ago and I just couldn't say no to him.  My husband is sort of a he man type and doesn't like leaving me home alone while the lawn man is here because a few weeks ago, the man exhibited a little anger thing.  So, either I will have to have a friend come over and sit while the lawn guy is here, or I will have to go shopping.  HMMMM hard decision but shopping wins. LOL.  My husband is a freak when it comes to possibilities. Like he will say, don't ride the bus after dark.  Or when I am working late and at my office, he will actually call the security guy to come check on me. LOL.

My dh and I are the epitome of happiness and I can not see myself without him.  I am one lucky woman and I am not bragging to make others feel jealous.  I am just getting all sentimental since this is our wedding month.

Hope you guys have a great day.

morning susan and OFF....

well the trip to michigan was great!!! no storms to drive through either way!!! what a relief!!! saw my mom and had a good visit with her for her 88th birthday. went to lonestar for dinner friday night and had a good meal there. then went back to her house for more visiting. older brother bill came home and was good seeing him again. called my younger brother joe and he was up north for a fishing tournament. said he didn't know if he would be back home in time to see me or not. well he never came back home so i didn't get to see him....but he did come in second in the tournament!!! missed first place by an ounce!!!! wow!!!!! well the neighbors were starting to come out and were getting restless...mom lives in the hood and its not safe to be outside after a certain time so we said it was time to go to motel and hit the hot tub!!! so off we went and oh that hot tub felt soooo good on our tired bones!!! had a bunch of motorcycle people show up at the motel to stay. had the name VIGILANTES (sp) on their leathers...not sure if they were good or bad....just stayed clear of them....lol then saturday we were off to see mom for her birthday and then the graduation party for my cousin. had a good time seeing family there and had some good food also. left there and took mom home because she wasn't feeling up to going to hospital to see my sister. so rick and i went to see bonnie and lo and behold there sat lori....sighs...things went ok for the visit but i sure wasn't expecting to see lori sitting there!!! so any how...bonnie has a broken foot along with her UTI but that is getting better...had one kidney dialisis treatment and needs a couple more. she is in a rehab hospital now to learn to use the crutches and steps. should be there about a week or so she said. lori showed me a picture of her dads eye that has an infection in it. or should i say 3 different infections in it!!!! one is staph another is ecoli and i can't remember the third one. his eye is red and i do mean red and its swollen up size of tennis ball. he is getting iv antibiotic treatment for it and is still in hospital. no i didn't go see him. well after that visit with my sister we left to go back to moms. well we were getting hungry again so off we went to eat dinner at the chinese place mom wanted to go to. had crab legs there and man were they good!!! and i didn't get sick on them this time either!! yippeee!!!!! after dinner we went back again to moms and visit. rick had bandit outside and he comes in telling us some suv stopped and got out and beat the hell out of this guy that this other guy claims stole his stuff...well rick said it was time to go again because he saw a gun this time....omg!!! told mom she should come back with us to ohio but she won't!!! so off to the motel we went again for the night. sunday we went back to say our good byes to mom and then headed to frankenmuth to see phyllis and jon. go**** was good seeing them again!!! they had a nice cook out for us and had a good time visiting them. then it was time to hit the road to head back home. hated to leave but knew we had to. ran into a traffic tie up about 40 miles out of birch run and after an hour moving only 2 miles we saw why it was tied up...a sheriff car flipped over and i am sure it was fatal...it was bad!!!! so if anyone knows what happened please let me know. well we got back home after 61/2 hours!! no place like home!!! felt good to be back in ohio and in our own place again. could have stayed longer in michigan but felt the need to get home again. also ricks leg flarred up again and he is in pain. so best to be at home and not in a strange place for him.

well thats enough of my trip and all i rattled on long enough it seems...feel like i have a cold coming on and i hate feeling like crap. so off to shower and then the bank to get some money for some bills to pay.

sorry to hear about linda and connie!!! wow!!! prayers work in numbers so will pray for them both. also for any others that need prayers!!!

have a great day and remember to SMILE!!!!!! ; )

Good morning "the other Susan" ... haha    and all you other fine folks!

I have been "up"  but not "at 'em" for sure!  Maybe it's the weather?

I stuffed blankets in those big vacu-bags and will attempt the sucking/flattening deal this afternoon.  I am also getting ready for the neighborhood yard sale at the end of the month (sigh).  I have a couple sleeping bags that I need to take over to the laundra-mat and get washed then hopefully manage to do the vacu-bag thing with them also.  I would really like to put them in the yard sale but about the time I sell them dirt cheap my son will call up wanting to use them.  Maybe I should tell him if he wants them he better take them.  I am trying to declutter my life!  haha

Have a great day everyone!

((((((((( BIG  HUGS Connie & Linda ))))))))))    You both are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Susan and my OFF family:

It's gloomy and chilly here today ... only 61 degrees. I'm sitting here at nearly noon in my winter robe and slippers and I'm freezing. Yesterday it did warm up to nearly 80 and humid, but it rained a bit and we had tornado warnings. I was chilled but I had a low-grade fever yesterday. I must have had a stomach bug ... I had the runs most of the morning and then felt sick the rest of the afternoon. But it's out of my system today.

The White Sox played crappy in the afternoon game but really well in the evening after their manager reamed them. Good! They needed to be  yelled at after that afternoon loss. Hopefully, they'll continue to play better.

Well, back to work today, but only three days of work. My boss should be back but don't know if I'll see him because he may be gone when I get there at 6. I'm looking forward to my long weekend.

I agree about Connie ... poor woman! I'm so afraid of falling ... I do it so well. And when you live alone, it's doubly difficult. It's one of the reasons I bought this condo with no steps. I knew I couldn't take those stairs anymore, not with my bad knees and back. It's come in handy with the two knee surgeries.

Have a good day. Susan, glad the elbow brace has worked out for you.
