What are you eating and what's eating you?
Welcome to the Tuesday edition of Linda's thread. I hope that your Tuesday goes very well. Heck I hope mine does too for that matter!
I heard from our Linda last night. She told me that she called the neurologist and has an appointment tomorrow at 1:00, so that is a great thing. She said that she can't on the computer since the tremors are so bad in her right hand. She still needs our prayers and good thoughts.
It is terrible news about our Connie D. too. She brings so much joy to us also and we need to keep her in our prayers and good thoughts too. Susan said about starting a card shower for her so that is something that we are planning to do. So if you would like to do that just start sending her the cards. Her address should be on the OFF directory.
I have some errands to do today. Thank God that Bill is home and going to be doing them mostly. I am just going for the ride basically. We are going to Wally World to get his late birthday gift which is a new rod and reel. I know that you are so surprised that he wants something to do with fishing. If it isn't fishing or grilling I am not sure what he would do....ha ha!
So what is eating us and what are we eating today? I am just getting very impatient with staying down more than I want to. I was told yesterday that the wound is draining much more and that is because I am over doing it. I need to nip that in the bud as Barney Fife would say. That is hard for me when I am feeling better. That is something that I have to work on really hard.
So...what am I eating today? I am still having problems with the eating. I just don't want to do it. I do list food but most of the time it doesn't get eaten. I know....you are thinking the same thing that everyone is telling me. I never thought that I would hear someone tell me that I have to eat....wow what a difference this surgery makes in my life....what about yours? What difference did it make in yours?
B: sf oatmeal with a peach in it
L: maybe out I am not sure
D: pork chop with veggies
S: kiwi
The nurse told me to eat veggies and fruit and of course protein. Oh so easy to say but not to do.
Have a wonderful day and spread the happiness around...it will come back to you tenfold. I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers. Have a great one and just think...tomorrow is hump day!

Jeane, it is so good to see you. I have missed seeing you chatting.
I am so glad that you are having cottage cheese and pineapple. That is something that I need to get...it will be the protein and the fruit that the visiting nurse is telling me to eat. I could get some of the kiwi in the cottage cheese too. Thanks for helping this struggling lady. You are a blessing. And that is for sure!

Brenda,
thank you for helping with the thread. I am so scattered these days and can hardly help myself, let alone others.
Would it help you to post what you ate the day before , THEN FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU CAN TWEAK THINGS? Oops, I hit CAP LOCK by mistake. The brain and fingers are not well connected today.
My original incision got infected and needed packing for 10 days. It didn't hurt, just grossed me out. Ugh! I feel for you.
Kisses

Thanks for reminding me about doing that. I forget so much that I think the brain is the size of a portion of a pea. And that isn't very good!
I think that might help but the problem is there is just no appetite. That is what is concerning the visiting nurse. I don't think it is a problem but she says that I need to eat to heal and I do understand that. I might not like it but I understand it....and I might not be able to do it but I still understand it.
I will give that a try. Thanks for the reminder...I guess that is what big sisters are for...to help us out when we forget!
Love you, dear one!

Little Sis Brenda,
If I only ate when I was hungry it would seldom happen. I still eat by the clock.
After any surgical procedure our appetites seem to evaporate. Try smaller portions but more often. If food/water won't go down, check with your surgeon and ask if you might have a stricture.
We do take care of each other in the best ways. My OFF sisters and brothers are the BEST!!

Shoot, Prayers all around today. Had a little french bread yesterday but mostly stuck with the food plan. Making progress at work with these piles all over my office. I'm going to Vegas next week so feeling pressured to get things done before I go. Started organizing my packing last night and gave myself a manicure. My housemate's new romance didn't work out so I was a sympathetic ear for him. If only the scale would start moving again.

S protein bar
L chili con carne

Prayers to you Linda and Connie,
Brenda,
It does take a while to get all of that in, when I started out I of course began with the protein, then I worked up to the point of a small serving of veggies. When I started with fruit I bought the very smallest pieces of fruit and veggies I could find. I would go to the farmers market to get all of the small stuff. After a while I started working in a very small portion of grains too. I know it is not easy though, it took me a long time to do that. Even now, there are some days when I don't get it all in, I just do the best I can. Just keep working on it, it will get better.
So far today, B- Slice of high protein carrot zucchini bread spread with FF cream cheese, small slice of melon
L - Chicken salad w/ lowfat homemade mayo and loaded with celery and a few small grape halves, along with a small piece of whole grain high protein bread.
D- 1/2 of a salmon burger- no bun, dab of cottage cheese, asparagus
S - Raspberry shortccake with small whole grain biscuit, dab of carb smart ice cream and sprinkled with almonds
