Just got back from my nap and decided to start the thread.   Why not?

I was by myself for the last couple of hours, some help finally came in.  Not that I worked very hard, but I took double the calls I normally do.  I took nine calls in 4 hours.  I shouldn't have to work so hard.

Anyone have anything special planned today?

My Rangers have lost two in a row, time to get on a good roll again.

Good morning George & all.

Two men scolded me yesterday. Not one but two. Very AngryI was in the check out line trying to heft a case of water from the cart to the conveyer belt. The man behind me took it out of my hands and said I shouldn't lift the case because it weighed more than me. Nice in a way but how did he think it got in the cart? I got home and started to lift it out of the car. The man *****nts my garage yelled that the water was bigger than me and to stop trying to carry it. It bugs me to be told I am too little to do something. Okay ... I'll confess that I don't like to be given any orders.

Kisses
Annette

Do you think they would have said anything if you had never had WLS?  Do you think you would have been told you are too little to lift it back then?  Take it as a compliment.  They did not want you to hurt yourself.   I am sure there was nothing mean meant by it.

Ah yes George - they would have let me struggle before WLS. I just get all defensive and think I am big and tall.

At 10 years old I was 5 feet tall. That's way taller than the average kid. The notion of being TALL has stuck throughout the years. All 5'2" of me.

Next time I'll smile, say thanks and stop being such a grouch.

Thank you for a kind attitude adjustment.

I was 5-5 in the fifth grade. I was 5-6 after that (or so I thought). Then I started gaining more inches width wise.  I'm now 5-3 1/2. So I've shrunk height-wise (I've been told because of the disc compression in my back, although at my bone density scan, the nurse/tech measured me at 5-4, so I gained back a half inch.

I try not to carry heavy things inside, but my cats just won't do it for me, so I'm stuck carrying in the 40-pound boxes of cat litter and the 24-bottle containers of water. They're hell on my knees and back ... The guys at PetsMart carry the boxes out to my car, but they won't come home with me.

Hey Darlin'

This happens to me too. Just because I'm small, doesn't mean I'm weak! I mean, jeez....if you think about it, weight lifters routinely lift more than their body weight, right? It's not that it isn't possible for heaven's sake!!!  I think people see us as frail. We're the ones you gotta watch out for

I woke up at 4:00  by no fault of Old Dog. Got up to go potty and just couldn't go back to sleep. It's going to be a long day, and since I'm not busy at work today, it will be hard to keep my energy up. Maybe a nap on the massage table????

Got the lab results back from the blood work from two weeks ago. The nurse says my A, and K are "normal", but I'll wait for them to mail it to me to see what the numbers really are. Now, the D level???  Yep, there's a bit of a problem there.....it was 173 Since high normal is 74, I can lay off the supplements for a bit. Just proves that those stupid green gel caps don't do us any good. I've been taking the dry form from Vitalady and it shows. God, I love to prove the Dr's wrong!  Now, we still need to figure out why I bleed like I do.  It's always somethin'

going in for another cuppa. You all have a dandy day!

How very interesting.  I would have been beaming at a comment like that.  I remember one time, I was flying and was put in business class.  Before, we took off, I was playing with the seat which had a foot rest.  When it was time to taxi out, the male flight attendant came over to help me get the foot rest back down and he called me little lady.  I was soooo tickled!  I love compliments like that!

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Hi Annette,
Help is better than none when you need it.  Since my husbands knee and hip replacement I am the wo"man" who lugs and lifts at my house.  I was in Home Depot putting three 40 lb. bags of bird seed and a 20 lb. bag of sunflower seeds for our bird feeders into the cart.  When I finish I look up and a guy has been watching me the whole time.  (From what I think is not my best side.)  He says to me "Workout, eh?" and walks off.
Then I took it all out to the car and hefted it into the back of the car.  Then took it out of the car and emptied it all into an old army bin we have in the garage where the opening is chest level.  I was done in for the day then.
A little help now and then - not such a bad thing.
Have a good one.
Bev
