What's new Thursday?

You know, I'm not old enough for the discount, but when I order food off the senior menu, no one has ever asked for my ID!  I figure everyone who is a position to sell us stuff, food, movie tickets, etc., is so much younger than us they just naturally assume that if we say we're that old, who are they to argue?

I can't eat a full order of my favorite meal at IHOP (grilled tilapia), but I can eat the single fillet and some of the broccoli that's served on the senior menu...and I save a couple of bucks, too!

Trust me. No one will ask for verification

I don't mind getting the full-sized meal because I like having a second meal out of it, unless I'm on the road and have no place to store it.

But a lot of times when I'm eating out with Mom, there's no way I'll get the senior discount because I really look young standing next to her (she turned 85 last week).

Unfortunately, our movie theater discounts are 62 for seniors ... and I'm just 54. I know my brother started getting the senior discount at 55.

Ask for the senior discount.  They never check ID.  Save those pennies anywhere you can.

Hi Eileen,
I'll be 56 in Sept. so I like to think hubby, who is 64, is what made the cashier decide we qualified.  I think Susan is right.  The kids who are cashiers are so young, they can't judge our ages.  I will happily accept paying $4.50 less for our movie tickets.  The movie was good.  As sequels go, not as good as the first but I liked it.
I'm in the mood for some chick flicks so I think I'll call my sisters to see if they are up for matinees to see the new ones coming out.  The new movies with Katherine Heigl or Sandra Bullock sound good and funny.
Hugs,
Bev

Good Morning Eileen and Friends,

I got in about noon yesterday after spending a few hours at my friend's on the way home from Seattle. We had a wonderful, way too short time on Karen S's beautful Maui. Also a wonderful, but too short time with her. There is never enough time. What a warm, dynamic woman she is. Our little Kaanapali Beach Hotel was absolutely delightful. Right in the middle of very pricey resorts. Same ocean, same beach, not near the price. I would highly recommend it. Still can't believe we got air and 5 nights from Seattle on Hawaiian Airlines for $750.00 each.

Next time I'll be staying longer. Still playing catch up so I'll go for now. It was so nice, but it's nice to be home also. Missed you all.

Aloha my friend......I totally agree......time was short, but I loved every moment spent with you and Colleen. We actually put on swimsuits and sat by the pool, and went IN to cool off!! That was lovely.

I loved your friend, Colleen.....such a wonderful person and a joy to get to know. I wish I had felt better..........I came home that day and went to bed. I did babies on Tues.......but had to call in sick for the rest of the day at IMUA. I'm hoping it isn't the flu....but sure feels like the symptoms....achy, headache, etc.

To all our OFF sister and brothers......just let me say if you get a chance to meet Karen C....don't miss it!! She is a jewel!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen
