Arthritis question

For the past few days, one knuckle on my left hand has been sore.

This afternoon when I got home, I noticed that the knuckle is red and hot to touch (but not swollen).

Naturally this happens late on a Friday afternoon.

My husband poked at it and said, "Looks like arthritis to me" (he received his medical degree NOWHERE, but you still have to wonder...)

There's no sign of an injury or bug bite.

Does this sound like arthritis to any of you?

Thanks,
Jean

Well, I got my medical degree at the Univ of Nowhere also but I don't think I've see arthritic fingers get red and hot.   Can you get gout in your finger joints?  I think red and hot usually means an infection of some sort.

sometimes gout-   arthritis,
red and warm tot he  touch is a sign of infection.
if you have an urgent care  around would not hurt to have the dr. chack it out and you can get treatment started to  get it on it's way.
