i forgot to tell you the good news we rec'd in the  mail the other day- worker's comp hearing was while we were in Panama--the hearing officer did not make her decision at that time- so the news came via mail--she approved his therapy!!!!! 1 day a week for 6 weeks- yea!!!!!!!!!!!! so now the employer has 14 working days to appeal again ...this gives more credibility to his injury and to teh case in regards to a possible settlement!! AND he gets back to PT to help work his shoulder properly!!!!!! ( it's been since end of march since he has been there)....

small joys!! had to share!!!!!!!

Sounds like things are working out!

Today we are going to sell my old car for parts to a mechanic ($150).  Then pick up a rental trip for our trip to Norfolk.

Hope everyone has a good day!

I went through a two year process with Workers Comp.  I finally got awarded a permanency rating and compensation.  Unfortunately, the checks stop in December.  At that time, we can go for a higher rating.  I am still able to get therapy and doctor visits so that is good.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

michael's accident was 3/6/06 so that is what 39 months ago--it took almost two years before they started properly treating his shoulder and now the company is tired of it--they are starting to talk money settlement...michael is too old for permanent (SSD) disability....when the wc runs it's course we can apply for permanent but there is what a 9 month wait or some garbage so it takes about a year...and for now; he really still needs his PT....

they really just hope you will go away or die....like ins companies do for folks needing wls!!!!

i feel your wc pain!!!

I had a super good lawyer that was on the ball AND a great surgeon who kept things going.  I think I went for a total of three Hearings before all was said and done.  Wait list? With the courts or what?  Make sure you get a copy of all the medical reports!  That is important.    We did not settle. I still have issues and I have up to five years of medical treatment.  I just dropped off a copy of my medical records to a local Orthopedic doctor.

During this journey I had to drive up from NC about every six weeks to my original surgeon.  Then when my hubby moved me to PA, I drove down. It was a Maryland Workers Comp.  Now since it is all over, I can get a local doctor to continue.

no "wait list"...there is a clause that you have to be off total temporary for say 9 months before you can apply for permanent--i am not really "UP" on this stuff anymore..am just biding time and listening to our atty...we have had numerous hearings as his company balked about a lot...but we have continually won out....

one of the issues at stake is that michael was 66 when this happened -and is 69 now- so they figure he will go away soon....he's too ornery!!!

WOW!  PA Law is better.  I went from temporary total to permanent in about three months.  Only because we had to wait for an opening on the docket.

That's how I think my company feels about me. Everything hurts too,and the neurologist started using the F word, fibromalsia (sp),everything hurts.
I want to throw my dishes away, washing them is a chore.
No more big dinners at grandma's.
I am on short term disablity at work,I have long term which I have paid for 7 years, and still,it would be a fight.
Margo, everything is such a fight. I like peeping in and seeing you guys and your lives,it helps me to keep pushing.
Take care.
