My name is Joyce  but the only one who calls me that is mom when shes mad at me!
I go by Jo. Ted is my stepdad though we love him dearly.    He was in the south pacific during some heavy fighting.  He was also  on one of the ships at the bikini atoll during the atomic tests  though he suffers no side effects from that.   He was also in Korean conflict  but on a ship  never in country.
Thanks for the invite  would enjoy meeting someone from this board!!

Hi from the Mid Continental Hotel where the OH Event was held. It was great and a long day today. I got 2 tea shirts. I got to walk the runway for a fashion show. I modeled a Burberry Suit that I got from the 2nd hand store in Denver. So I got my claim to fame for 10 minutes.
I saw Floyd and Brenda and a lot of other people from the Illinois board.
Dr Garth Davis and Mary Jo Rapini  were speakers......(BIG MEDICINE)    I got a picuure with Dr Garth!!!!!!!
Went to several talks with Psychologists and tried to get my head on straight!!!!!

Have you ever been raped by a hotel!!!!! The prices were off the wall!!!!!! 5.00 for a bottle of water!!!!! I dont think so.......
The clothing exchange that I worked on with the Illinois board went well. Man did we have a lot of clothes!!!!!!!

chef Dave was there and demoed how tomake an omelet....Told us some other ways to cook...very interesting........

Well now I am packing up again to go back to my daughters!!!!!
By the way parking was 22.00 a day if you you wanted to go ina nd out all day or 11.00 if you just parked and stayed!!!!!  Robbery. I had my daughter take me there and one of the Illinois girls is taking me back to car that is at my sister in laws!!!!!

Good morning to you all, my OFF family. Today is Sunday and the last day of Bill's vacation. I am going to miss him when he goes back to work tomorrow afternoon. Jeez....did I ever think I would hear myself say that after a week of him on vacation? But you heard it here first!

I was going to go to church this morning but now I am not going to get there. Heidi was suppose to have gotten here at 9 to change the packing and bandages but it was 9:30 and so now it is to late to get to church. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes because it is yet another week that I am not getting there. I haven't been to church since Mother's Day and I miss going. I am not use to being home on Sunday mornings...my week doesn't go well when I am not going to church. Oh well...it is beyond my control and there is nothing I can do about it. What's done is done and over with.

Brittany is going home this evening and part of me is happy about that. I am not use to having her here and though she not a problem it bothers me having someone here for so long. She has been here since Friday afternoon and I am just tired now. She thinks that she has to be entertained and I am the headliner. She also thinks that we have nothing more to do than take her places and spend money on her. I have blown over $100 this week end and that is money that I don't have.

It is bright and sunny here this morning and the birds are chirping their good mornings to each other and to us and then they are singing since it is such a wonderful warmer day today. I love to hear them chat amongst themselves. It is a joy having them around.

I guess I should go. There is stuff around here that I need to do. If I don't do it it isn't going to get done until heaven only knows when. It is driving me NUTS not being able to do something around here. I like it done when I want it done and not when someone else decides to do it. Sorry for the ranting.....it is going to be one of those days of poor pitiful me....I can tell.

I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers being said for everyone. Have a great day and please spread the seeds of your happiness and joy around just like the beautiful flower seeds. The happiness and joy will sprout and grow just like the flowers.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

I hate yard sales too. I am working on getting ready for one myself at the end of the month. I just hope it isn't raining since I don't have a garage.

My FLAGS are out.

Hi Margo and all,

Let's see...Tom is still out of work, and I am trusting things will be OK.  He is still going to school working on his Doctorate and this gives him some time to devote extra time so maybe he can be done sooner. He is in the process of hopefully getting the gov to pay for part of it. Has a couple of hoops to jump through but it looks pretty positive. His place of employment was paying for it  but not now. He is half way finished so hate to have him stop.

I am going in for hip surgery in Oct. Would do it sooner but need to build up sick leave from work. It's nothing serious, I have a torn labrum, I guess it's like a shock absorber in the hip socket, and it is just painful. Dr. said it could cause some problems down the road for someone "your age" thanks doc. He also said "people your age" don't have a great success rate in repairing by stitching the tear, but usually have to have it cut out...OK Doc rub it in! So anyway he says the recovery time is 2 weeks at least . I said I mostly sit at a desk or sit with residents so couldn't I go back sooner and he said no. It would hurt too much to sit so much. Don't know how I got it, they keep asking me if I was in a car accident or had a bad fall, but nope. Also I guess professional football players and baseball players get them, and I KNOW I don't fit into one of those categories either.
Anyway...

Now Tom has started book shelves in the library area of our dining room. It's kind of a little nook. I don't think he understands how much having my house in disarray disturbs me. I absofruitinglutely HATE it, but the results are so wonderful...

Margo, I would love to go to Hawaii, I have never even visited.

Connie, sounds like you are well on the road to recovery...sorry you are hurting.

Susan, great idea about Craig's list. I have sooooo many beanie babies and McDonald toys and displays that I used to collect and I think I will try Craigslist. I know I won't get much if anything but just to get rid of them and not have to be storing them or throwing them away...some are (McDonald's toys) from the early 70's.

My God! Janet! Thank goodness you are all OK, but what a crappy crappy unlucky situation with the car being paid for and all....a couple of years ago my most favorite car I had ever owned was paid for, I loved it, had just gotten over $3,000 repairs finished on it, and I loved it, it was a Chrysler LHS, I loved it, got hit by a drunk college kid while parked by the house and totaled. Did NOT get what is was worth or a comparable replacement...etc etc....I feel your pain. I am sooo sorry.

We have had a lovely weekend and I am again reminded of how much better I feel now when it's hot than I felt at my heaviest when it was hot.

I was wondering  with all the talk of vitamins the past few days. I get my labs done about every 6 months, and they are always in the very good range, nothing near the middle of suppose to be....but all well above or if suppose to be low well below...you know what I mean I hope...but anyway...my nails seem so much healthier than they have been in a long time. Do any of you smart vitamin gurus, and I mean that very respectfully,( I appreciate the knowledge about that stuff that you contribute) think this is a good sign that all is well or just a lucky thing like genes or something? I was wondering if I could look at this as another sign I'm doing things right. What do you think?

Well, I have rattled on longer than is fair...
Take care,
Cheryl

Margo,  will you be close to Karen S. when you move there?  Do you have a place picked out yet?  I hear it's beautiful but expensive there.

Thanks, Margo, I will keep that in mind! I would LOVE to go to Hawaii.

I do hate flying tho....so maybe I will get the nerve up by the time we can ever make the trip.
