Thanks! Can't wait to get to know you all.......
Helllllloooooo Ruth. Welcome.
You're to be congratulated on your weight loss. I wish I could have done it on my own, but I've yo-yo'd all my life and now is the time to make it permanent. My surgery isn't scheduled until August 10th so any tips you can give me to control my out of control eating would be appreciated.
you'll love this group.

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome.
I yo-yo'd for many many years too.
It will sound silly but my tip to you would be to take it one day at a time and one meal at a time. Each time you make a good food choice pat yourself on the back...celebrate it. At the end of one day you'll have at least 3-5 good food decisions, then the next day it will be 6-10 and so on and so on. It snowballs........before you know it, a week will have gone by and I bet a couple lbs have dropped.
Even if you just maintain from now until your surgery that will be a victory. Staying the same is better than a gain!!!
Hang in there.
Feel free to PM me if you ever want to chat about food or exercise....
Best wishes to you as you prepare for surgery.
Ruth

Hi Ruth,
Nice to meet you, and happy to see you here. That's a magnificent weight loss!!! You've proven, yet again, that the "mature" members of OH are capable of great things. So you are looking at plastics, or had them? I figure they are a bonus that we should accord ourselves after all the effort of losing the weight.
What food issues are troubling you? Are you exercising and getting in supplements? How can we help?
I'm listening.....here anytime you want to chat. Blessings to you Mary

Hi and thanks for the welcome!
Food issues........of course there are still those few foods that talk to me from time to time but I do a good job of ignoring them. One of the most amazing things is that I have not eaten butter in more than a year. I come from a family that butters everything so this is a big deal!
I gave up sugar and sweeteners 4 1/2 months ago and don't crave them.
My big struggle right now is losing the last few lbs. I'm stuck on a plateau and getting FRUSTRATED! BUT, being totally honest with myself I have not been exercising as much as I used too (I had an arm lift 3 months ago and then got a bad cold/flu 3 weeks ago). Last week I started getting my exercise act together again. Since I've been bored with walking on the treadmill I took it outside last week and have been riding my bike almost every morning. I do about 70/75 mins or about 15 miles. I have a nasty hill to contend with and since I basically ride around the neighborhood I have to tackle this hill 6 times! ugh...
Anyhow, I'm really hoping this will be the week I drop a couple of lbs......otherwise I'll pull all my hair out and that should show about a lb on the scale....lol
Thanks for the note and offering to help.
Any suggestions on how I can get off the plateau would sure be appreciated!!!
Thanks
Ruth

Thanks Mona.......
I see you are in NE. I lived in Omaha for almost 5 years. Moved there for my job and then moved back to NY (now moving to FL......I'm TIRED!)
