I'm on my way to bed... it's midnight-thirty here in CA. Tomorrow will be a busy day for me. I have a hair appointment (color and cut) and a shopping appointment... I'm getting ready for our big trip North. My husband's brother is getting married (first time- at 65 years of age!) in Oregon. After the wedding my husband and two of his brothers and their wives and myself are heading to Vancouver, Canada for a week of relaxation and fun. We rented a Bed and Breakfast for 7 days- they stock the refrigerator and we "borrow" the house for the week.  On the way home my husband and I are going to lunch at the Space Needle in Seattle. This will be the third time since my weight loss surgery that I've gone on a big trip... using a Passport. It's another perk to WLS...... being able to walk and move and TRAVEL! I'm waiting to hear about your day. Pull up a chair and "weigh-in" on your day!

Julia...I love Vancouver, BC.  Isn't it so much fun to travel with less "baggage"?  And with a passport, too!!  I know that I wouldn't be going to Greece on Friday, if I still weighed 434 pounds.  Married at 65 for the first time, huh?!  Cool.  Enjoy your day.  I will be packing and repacking.  If it wasn't for theatre props and costumes, I could probably make it with a carry-on.  Hugs to all.  Diane

No matter what a person's past may have been, their future is spotless.  Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!!

George just trust that God knows the big picture and has everything under control....when you need to talk or unload here is a great place to do it....we may not have answers that solve the problems but we all care and ....

today my granddaughter is coming out to visit with the two great grand babies....oh boy yummy kisses and hugs.  they are both such really good babies , and in this day and time it is hard to see many that are .
dont have a lot else on the menu for today....which is good , the humidity here is extreme ....i am getting out in a little while and weeding a front flower bed before it gets too hot. it is already up to 75 and with 90% humidity that 75 feels a lot warmer....oh well i remember just a few short weeks ago i was complaining about how cold it was lol are we never satisfied? yeah  low humidity and between 75 and 85 lol
Have already put up 10 quarts of green beans in the freezer, also 6 quarts of broccolli,  ...have had fresh ripe tomatoes all ready....yummy so good. wish someone was around to help me eat all this lettuce we have , i dont know what possessed me to plant so much , and for the most part the weather has been cooler so it hasnt bolted yet....beautiful red simpsom lettuce. so good but a person can only eat so many salads lol ....and there is nothing to do with it as far as saving it. i think it is the only veggie that you cant can or freeze ....
well got to get busy....have a great day everyone.

Hey Jan.  Lately, I've been eating a lot of lettuce and tomatoes too.  My son in law makes the best garden and he always brings us bushels of produce.  We freeze the peas and greenbeans too.  I'm like you, there's only so many salads that I can eat. If you have those air tight bags, you might can get more life out of it.
It started out here all cloudy and rainy and I thought we were going to have to cancel our trip to the creek, but now it is hot and sunny.  I started the day in long pants and long sleeves and now I am taking off the hot clothes. LOL.  I usually freeze even on hot days.  Well, gotta get back to work.  I take these little breaks.  Took Kenny to the doctor and he has been on steriods for a month or so and his inflammation is down; now they have him off and are waiting for his next flare up so they can go in and get tissue from his stomach and small intestine.  I told the doctor to get ready, once the steroids stop the flare up comes back.  Now watch it prove me a liar. LOL.
Glad you are still enjoying your garden.

Julia,

Today I'm taking hubby to his gastro man and then the cat back to the vet and then my very obese friend and I are going to the swimming hole for swims.  Well, she does the swimming, I walk.  I refuse to get into any body of water that I can not see the bottom.  Plus, there is just something gross about swimming in outside creeks.  But, they have a nice walking path along the river and I'm going to walk while she swims.  Other than that, research and writing.  Oh, and I have some academic news:  I wrote a chapter for one of the esteemed linguists.  When it finally gets published, I will tell you guys the name and cut and past it for you to read.  I'd say go out and buy the book, but unless you are a linguists, it will bore you to death. LOL.  Having two publications now is great for my CV for later.  I have one more publishing opportunity that is a group venture of five of us who were at the same conference at Ohio State and I was asked to submit my topic for a chapter to their book.  Did it, and it's a done deal.  Great.  Too bad we don't get paid for these ventures. LOL.

Hope you guys all have a good day.

Hope all went well and you didn't take the cat to the gastro and spouse to the vet.
