you could do 5 small meals a day to keep the sugars in balance.

Millie,do you only eat 3 meals a day?? This does not work for me. I list my food like that, but it is all divided up. I do not go 3 hours without food,or I feel weird. The servings do not have to be large.
Have you compiled a list of foods that keep you steady?
I know what you mean about the physical reactions. Did you have a sugared milk shake? It is like poison.
I know it seems impossible, but you will get balanced.
I am off of caffiene,I realized it was not only wacking out my balance, but indeed affecting my nerves, and I used to drink coffee all day. You are sensitive, obviously,so it must go.
Pamper yourself, remember you are special, listen to your body.
You are not chatty. I would like to know if you are following a diabetic diet,it sounds like you are,it is the best diet in the world.
Please let me know, and know that when you share, and ask for help, you are also helping so many.
There are "good fats" too..
You are taking care of yourself, just keep going.

Oh  Gosh No,  I have three main meals and three snacks.  I feel like I'm constantly eating.  I take my blood sugars at each meal.  I do have a list of foods that keep me even.  Oatmeal, chili, almonds and surprisingly low sugar Popsicles.  I try not to deviate too much from my list.  It's usually when I'm out or at someones home for dinner.

Now that I know what the problem is I can control my foods.  I'm careful not to have too many carbs in one day.  I had rice today so I have to have proteins and few carbs.  I'm not following the diabetic diet per say but close to it.  I need more protein & fats than they allow for.

The interesting thing is, my PCP is just learning about wls, the nutritionist was surprised at  my A1c being so low for wls patients, endocrinologist was blase' about my condition due to wls and the surgeon was surprised and didn't know what to say.  The three of them had a consult together to better understand what is going on.

The bottom line is food intake is more important than ever.  My vitamins/minerals are sooo very important.  I truly feel the difference when I'm not taking my vits/mins and eating properly.  I get confused, muddled and my nerves are shot.

My best information came from here on OH from Darlene.  I'm kinda creating my own eating plan.  One that I can tolerate and live with.  I think that is what we all have to do in the long run...

Millie, heck girl!! No wonder you get befuddled. You do know you can pull up vitamin charts to help also?
Once you get everything on track you will be fine.
It sounds like you have to guard yourself against outings, you will for the price is too high.
Keep me posted.

Food demons  - hell no, they are full grown dragons.Dragon

For the longest time the scale haunted me so I exiled the darned thing. Now the tape measure haunts me. Does a 'sane person' think hips grow from 34" to gigantic in an afternoon? They sure look gigantic in the mirror. Then I think the bust is going to shrink more in the same amount of time.

I was told to be logical about my weight. All I can manage is fear of gaining.

DH (damned husband) said with the right haircut I could pass for a little boy. PissedLucky for him that he had enough common sense to step out of reach or I'd have kicked him in the

B-cottage cheese, berries, Kashi
L-green salad & deli ham
S-apple & peanut butter
D-probably chicken & green beans

I am craving a big, greasy slice of pepperoni pizza. Not going to happen, just a craving.

I take it you were pissed at DH for that comment???  Made me laugh right outloud!  I can't imagine ever being that flat.  (Not an insult)  I've always been big busted, in fact at work, before sexual harrassment became a thing, the guys used to call me 'sweater girl'.  I guess my sweaters really showed off my 'assets'.  I just can't imagine not being rolly poly.
Speaking of hair cuts, I'm going tomorrow for highlights and a cut.  I was thinking of letting my natural color grow out, but when I saw all the gray I changed my mind.  My niece (she used to be my stylist) said I'm too young acting to let the gray show right now.  I guess when I get more feeble it will be ok.  I don't plan on getting more feeble, I plan on getting more agile, so it'll be a while before I see my natural color again.
Smiles to all.

Jan,I think you look pretty as a blonde!! Don't give it up girl!!
Sigh!! I am unbraiding my hair,it takes days as I am lazy.
The upside is Olivia braids it and I do not have to be concerned with it for a long time.
I have thick hair,and back east,it curled nicely,in the desert,I am a wild woman!!
Jan,I wanted to offer you kudos on starting to notice your food intake, this is not easy.
I think you will do so well after surgery.
Have a great day and please do not be too hard on yourself. If we could do it alone,we would have.

Jan,

I started getting busty when I was 10 years old. My nickname was "Busty". It was horrible.

It actually feels better have a small chest. Tom was kind of joking but oh yeah, he pissed me off.

No way will you get feeble in the near future. You have so many new and good years ahead of you. Go blonde, red, or pink if it strikes your fancy.

Kisses

Tom is a wise man,he knows how to keep himself out of reach when he makes the wrong remark!! LOL!!
I too own a dragon! I can NOT exile my scale,I did not weigh for so long as I got fatter and fatter. You on the other hand had a totally different relationship with the scale for years,I recall that babes.
I thought about your statement that you watched your tummy swell after the chilli.
Annette,ya gotta ride that damn dragon. You give so much to so many.
You are the most cautious eater we have.
I hope one day you will exhale...smile.
Now I gotta go eat,and get that darn slice of pizza out of my mine...smile.
Hugs.
