Some wows along the way!
There have been some little "oh, hey, look at that!" things happening lately:
My arms rest flat on the arm rests in the car.
I never realized how BIG the steering wheel is!
I can actually turn around and look out the back window when I want to change lanes.
I fit through the turnstile at the courthouse without turning sideways!
I keep pulling the chair out too far from the table when I want to sit down.
I can get up off the chair and couch without having to scoot to the edge and pushing myself up. (I did that once at someones house and knocked over their living room chair in the process. How embarrassing was that.)

I fit into the lawn chair (and I can get up from it).
I can bend over and tie my shoes without cutting off my breathing.
Whoever said it's the little things in life was sooooo right!

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press
on to your destination.

on to your destination.

Good for you on all of your now you can do things. I remember the day hubby and I were going to eat at one of the local restaraunts. Previous to wls, I had the worst case of booth phobia you could ever imagine. I was a couple of months post op and we went in and they only had a booth and I was going to leave and hubby said, let's just try it and low and behold, I fit in that booth and had room to spare. Even now, I marvel at how easy public restrooms are and how fast I can walk. It is so great!

Elaine, a WOW moment came to me yesterday. Carolyn (my DS) and I went out have an early dinner and we went in and was asked if we wanted a booth or table. My sister said a table and I agreed and then told her that when I sit in a booth now I sit to far back from the table. I end up having to sit on the edge of the seat to eat....that isn't comfortable either. I use to worry about sitting at a booth for fear that I wouldn't fit (and trust me there was times that I didn't) and now they are to big for me.....how great is that?!
You Rock Girl !! Isn't life differnt now? WOW...You've done good Elaine. You had your surgery one day before me. I have now lost 103 pounds with 6 to go. I guess I'm one of those "Light Weights" they talk about. I am very proud of you and happy for you. Keep up the good work and soon you will be at goal too.

Yes, and wait until you actually have to pull the seat in the car closer to the steering wheel ... I did for awhile until I had the knee replacement (and now it's back farther just because it hurts my knee too much to bend it that much ... another story). When we're so obese, we have to have the seat back so far because of our big tummies, but once you lose enough weight, you can pull the seat to where it's supposed to be. I can actually fit into my mom's Honda Civic driver's seat (and put the seat belt on). One of the reasons I bought an Accord was because the Civic was too small for me when I was obese.
Congrats on your "wow" moments ... more are to come!
