What's new Thursday?

Had a productive day.....left home at 8:30 a.m. for K'zoo to have pre-op
testing.../thanks to my friend Ruthann, we got there with only one dipsy do.  Wow Borgess Hospital is HUGE .....Took almost 2 hrs for all the testing, then we got on our way....stopped at a Walmart as Ruthann uses Baby Magic lotion and they didn't have it either.   On toward home, we stopped at a Denny's for lunch -- had a yummy senior omlette with fresh fruit cup.  Then took one of the main roads over to
the Mall and found some really nice sheets at Sears ON SALE!  On the way home we stopped at the fruit farm and each bought more strawberries.  Got home a little after 3 - I had to lay down and rest
for a while, until the phone woke me up.    That's my day and I'm sticking to it!

Oh Karen, my husband is the same way.  He finds geneology fascinating and will spend hours looking through old records and online stuff.  I know I'm in trouble because he will come to my office door and say, well...I know I'm going to have to sit through this awful story about how his great great somebody had something or another.  I usually tell him when my eyes glass over, it's time to quit.  But, with him, I can say, okay, now, I'm really bored and he will laugh and move on.  Sometimes, though, we do get into little tifts.  But, there are many men and women alike who are not able to pick up on social cues for when the conversation has lost its appeal or when it's time to leave.  Because I am so blunt, I just say it but others are not as crude as I.  You might tell your ex that fifteen minutes per phone call or 15 minutes per subject.  My friend has a habit of coming over and not wanting to leave.  She cannot take the cues either, and even when I say how tired I am or how much work I need to be doing.  Finally, I just said, sweetie, I love you and we have such a good time, but I cannot stand these long visits.  I know she was kind of hurt by it, but I did buy her a really nice gift to let her know that I am not mad at her, but that I just need to ration my time.  LOL. 

 

karen...no suggestions --just commiseration...my michael is sorta like that-he waits til i am doing something -like composing a thoughtful post!- or whatever- and then he talks--or when i have my cpap mask on ( i wear a chin strap as well so i can keep a tight fit!) or he just talks.............

as for the hermit..i have one too and she really wants some personal time soon!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Carla here posting on Nans computer. Yup I am up at her house. I left Grand Rapids around 330 after the Support Groups leader training. Phyllis and I took the class. We got to Grand Rapids around 1030pm last night.
I am sitting here with my feet propped up. I have blisters on my left foot and I think they are infected. So I may go to a doc tomorrow.
Anyway it looks like it may rain again. The drive up here was so pretty. I think I have only driven 131 north a few times.
Ill be here about a week then I have to go to chicago and pick up Carl on the 29th.
Well be in Chicago for  2 days then back up to Nans.

Sorry, We didnt leave Frankenmuth untill about 0830pm. We went to Zehnders for dinner then drove to GR. We got there around 1030pm and by the time we checked into the hotel. My blistered foot was killing me.
