I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I'm glad she is at peace and free from pain. It was good of you to keep the caregivers on even when she was in the hospital.

Thank you all.  I appreciate all of your thoughts a prayers.

My Sis and I spent 5 days going through all of Mom's things.  We go back there next month for probate and we have Bekin's coming to ship stuff to each of our respective homes.  Di and I were amazed at the amount of 'stuff' Mom and Dad were able to cram into that apartment in the 16 years they lived there!  A LOT of stuff went to Salvation Army and a lot went to employees of the complex.  A lot also went to the trash. 

So many times in the last two weeks, I have thought "I need to call Mom and tell her that".  I know that will go on for a very long time.  I still think about asking Dad's opinion on something.

Having both parents gone leaves a very big void in my life.  I am very happy that my Sister and I are so close, even if not close in miles.

My thoughts are with you. I still see old guys in baseball caps driving by in an old Chevy truck and think of my dad. I had both of my parents much longer than many people do but there is still that "orphaned" feeling.  Be gentle with yourself. Time is just about the only thing that helps. And I love talking about my parents and sharing good memories with others.

Your life story about your mother was very haearttouching..I too lost my mother,She had Leukemia when I was 34 yrs old. I felt robbed. She was only 61 yrs old.  I am 59 yrs old now and the closer to that age of 61..We all grieve for our parents, and learn to take one day at a time to get by. Thank goodness for friends and family.  Take care of yourself and cherish your sister and the company she can give you @ this time. Keep in touch.
