Feelings...how much does WLS change our feelings?? Do we walk through them more than stuffing them down? I do. Olivia and I went out for breakfast at a place I usually enjoy. This time the scrambled eggs were brown, the bacon not crisp, and a kid was having a temper tantrum in the key of C. I graciously sent my plate back, and they gave me a nice 2nd one. By that time,I could honestly not eat,nor enjoy the great lemonaide they make with strawberries in it. I asked for packaging and packed my food up,surprisingly,I was teary. It had been a hard night, and in the past,I would have stuffed that food down, I did not,a miracle! The manager was great and comped our food,no charge.
I am greatful I do not drown my feelings anymore. My tummy was less than great today, but I'll live....LOL!
B- None L- eggs and bacon D-Chicken salad S- Orange
I hope you all have a great Saturday!

When dh and I go out to eat, I usually eat off of his plate, but on those rare occassions when I actually order my own food, I hate the comments that the waitresses make about me not eating. Even after we explain that I've had wls.  I don't even bother bringing the left overs home.  Usually I am tired of being the spectacle.

Today, I should eat more cause Baby Girl and Mathew are coming up and they both require non-stop supervision.
B:  1 slice of turkey bacon, 1 egg, and 1/2 piece of toast
S:  cheese stick
L: I don't know.  Maybe lunch meat roll.  (thank to LInda for reminding me of the lunchmeat)
S: Yogurt
D: Chicken in same shape or form.  MOre than likely baked.
S: cheese stick

Jeanie, some people can just be plain silly. I do not eat out much, however,Olivia and I had eaten in the same place the day before,as I was craving grits. The food was better than great, and it gives me enough to eat all day,and the bacon usually goes to my doggie,Pookie.
The waitress was fantastic, her name was Angel, and she was just that,no silly questions, not even asking why I was not drinking my lemonaide, just putting it in a container and topping it off for me, I tipped her 30 percent as she deserved it,I requested her when I walked in,but she was off.
I think the manager remembered me. Now I will go back again,as the protein is excellent, and his understanding helped him keep a customer. I am not rich by any means, but I know quality.
It was a wow moment, recognizing I no longer hanker down over a plate and stuff food down no matter what, for this I am grateful.
Angel told me that they are firing people who do not sell enough food, this when they offer a cheap 24/7 special, which I did not order. Her attitude was "well if I do not work here,I will work somewhere",no whining, just a sweet sweet girl.
The tip was enough to purchase another meal for someone. Having 2 grands across the way,I toss nothing. Man oh man can boys eat!
I am so happy you are doing better, even happier I can get to know you better. Now I will admit I used to sneak and read your posts,as I liked your style...hehehe.

My husband and I like to go out for coffee.  He works until 10:30 pm, so when he gets off, he will come home and if I'm awake, he'll say, let's go get coffee.  Now, coffee for me is coffee, but coffee for him is a grand slam breakfast at Denny's. LOL.  The waitress who works there is a real jewel.  Her name is Princess and she is a true princess.  We ask for her too and we always leave her a huge tip.  Sometimes, I will look to see how much hubby leaves her and I say, not enough, fork it over. LOL.  She knows my eating issues and when she is there and when I order food, she usually brings it to me along with a small plate.  One night, I was doing my prep work for one of my classes and I went there for coffee and they have internet so I had my laptop and hours went by and she got off work and came over and we had such a good time just talking.  My mom was a waitress so I am tenderhearted and generous when it comes to their tips and their treatment.  But, back to eating out.  Oh, I know where I was going:  One of the things that I have learned about eating out, the food never taste as good on my plate as it looks on the menu.  Now before wls, everything looked and tasted good.  I think we are all like that now.  We eat because we have too.
I'm glad you read my posts.  I didn't know about the visitor thing or I'd read yours too. LOL  We are too peas in a pod.

Hello Jacki,my precious one. You sound better. At one point my NUT cautioned me that I was not eating enough protein and good carbs. I know we have spoken of this before, of course I thought she was bonkers,as I thought the less I ate,the better. She said the good carbs burned the fat,and she wanted me to have 100 gms a day,and 35 gms of fat!!
I lost weight! Me,a woman who sits on her arse enough that it is surprising I do not have blisters there.I am not an expert, and can only offer my own experience. Please make sure you are eating enough my sweet one.

Good morning to you, our sweet Linda. I hope that your Saturday is a good one. I so have a miserable time in a restaurant when some kid is so loud that it breaks the sound barrier. It seems to me that parents are dropping the ball at times...mostly because they want to friends and not parents. Oh dear...we don't want to stifle the poor baby. Hmmm something is wrong here...who is the parent?

Food didn't go to good yesterday. I got to feeling sick to my stomach after I ate a hamburger and that was the end.

B: banana
L: hamburger (ugh)
D: nothing
S: there was something but now I can't remember what the heck it was

I will do better today. Bill is home and so he is probably going to grill out...I can eat about anything if it is grilled. I will work on it really hard today.

I am sending love and hugs to you along with prayers for you and yours. Spread the seeds of happiness and joy around you and others will be better for it...and so will you. Have a wonderful Saturday...it is my favorite day of the week...I love them!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda,

I hope you are able to eat better.  A while back you or someone asked what osyters taste like, well, they really don't have a taste.  I mean, they taste kind of salty and from the can they are really soft, which makes it easy on the pouch.  When I eat them, I boil them on the stove in a small pan and when they get close to the boiling point, I put a little milk in them or butter.  Then I add salt and pepper. They taste just as good without the milk or butter.

Once, I went about two days without eating.  It was before they diagnosed my ulcer and by that time food was killing me.  So, I just didn't eat.  After the first day, it was easy.  Thank goodness my dh saw that I was in too much pain to eat and forced me to go to the ER.  I feel like that today, not pain but just am getting tired of making good decisions.  I know it is for the best.

I keep banannas here all the time.  I think they are one of the better fruits. LOL

Ohhhh,I asked about the oysters, sounds like they taste like clams!! I lived in New England for 5 years, and I fell in love with clams,I love clam chowder,Manhattan,or New England style.
My downfall was the Ispswitch long necked clams, they fry them and sell them on the side of the road...mmmm.
I am glad they do not have them here,I probably wouldn't like them anymore though.
I grew up with 2 oceans, and a dad who wa a fisherman and hunter,if I could eat fresh fish and grits everyday,I would be in hog heaven.
Fish is not big in Arizona....smile.
