I used to save coupons and send in box tops and there was a time that I could feed my family on three dollars or less.  LOL.  I remember buying those macaroni and cheese boxes ten or so for a buck.  They went in everything for stretching the meat.  My kids still talk about Mom's mystery casseroles.  No kidding, a very small amount of hamburger meat mixed with macaroni and cheese makes a great nutritious meal. Now, it is cheaper to buy a bag of noodles and box of cheese but then those boxes were dirt cheap.  I also bought ramen noodles by the case and they were mixed with ground beef to make a really fun worm casserole, or so my kids called it.  We may not have had steak but they never went to bed hungry.

I will never forget what I bought that day,the day before their dad's and my payday. Would you believe I was able to buy chicken breasts and a box of Rice a Roni??? LOL!

Yesterday it was bing cherries. . . now I'm wanting a nice, juicy, just right ripe watermelon!! I may go down and get me one of those little individual ones and ask them to cut it for me like Jan's grocer!

Hey Karen!

I have been eating the cherries, I love them! We have a cherry tree in the backyard and are waiting for it to ripen, may go to Green Bluff next weekend. I never ate cherries till last year and now I can't get enough.
I would love one of those yummy red watermelons right now too!

We had storms last night, nice day today and spose to be crappy tomorrow.

I posted in What's New Today but forgot to say that Tom has an interview in Seattle Tuesday for a job here in Spokane. I know, what's up with that? I guess the big wigs are over there. Already had a phone interview. They are paying his way over and for an overnight at a hotel. Hopefully, this will mean a job. Has not had many nibbles yet...keep your fingers crossed!

Hope we can meet up again, I need to at least meet you in the middle...it's only fair.

Cheryl

I absolutely take back anything and everything that is not in a state we can use it. We work to hard for our money to throw it away like that. We would never get out of the store without paying for those things,so the store is not gonna get out of a refund for selling rotten things!

I am going to always take it back.  No more giving the stores money for nothing.

I love watermelon and surprising, it's one of those foods that I have never gotten sick eating.

My dad would always have a salt shaker in one hand and the melon slice in the other!

Kenny laughs at me for eating my melons with salt.  The salt sweetens the sweet. LOL.
