Do you do it too?

Jeannie, One of my "where I come from stories":  My dad used to talk about going on "chicken roasts." Mom said she never went. I didn't understand why until one day when she explained. When I asked her why she said "Because they stole the chickens and melons for the roast!" Probably a bit of home brew also. Mom was called "Miss Touch Me Not" by the boys. Her twin, Ray, was my dad's best friend. They were friends long before he gave his "ok" to dad that he was good enough for his sister!

My grandma & Grandpa and their friends would load up in a car late at night and go out raiding corn fields, then come home and boil big pots of corn, I would get woke up in the middle of the night to eat fresh hot corn. My dad would cook fresh fish in the middle of the night after fishing too, what fun memories, no wonder I became a compulsive over eater when the best memories revolve around food.
