I must admit my forgetter is working better than my rememberer.     I know we need to drink lots of water when we're losing weight, but when we are on maintenance, why is it so important to drink 64 oz of water each day?    I'm having trouble drinking the water & need a little motivation.
Thanks!

Jan, I was told it is so we don't dehydrate. That is what my doctor says...so that is what I am going with.

It is going to be interesting to see if that is why. Thanks for asking...and I understand what you mean about the forgetter and the rememberer. My forgetter is working overtime and my rememberer isn't working at all..it is on strike and has been for a long time.

Thanks, Brenda - I guess you're right.   I've never had a problem with dehydration, but I don't want to go there, so I'll start drinking two 32 oz containers of water every day.

Because we dehydrate really fast. I got sick a couple years ago, I had diarrhea and vomiting and within 3 hours I had to be put in the hospital and hooked up to IV's for dehydration.

Thanks, Darlene - that's the motivation I'm looking for.   I was in the hospital for a week in May with Diverticulitus, and I wasn't dehydrated, but.... if I had beend drinking 64 oz per day, maybe my body could have handled it better on it's own.    I've got my water measured out & I will drink it all.

Maybe it is to help our "forgetter" cause I am also having trouble getting in the water and remembering ... haha. I think Brenda is right. We still have to keep our bodies well hydrated. I am in maintenance phase also.

Susan, you are so funny, but maybe you are right?   Keeping well hydrated may help with my memory, you never know.   Also, when I fill up with water, there's not as much room for food, so that should help.   Thanks

Hiya babes, our bodies are made mostly of water, and since we mal-absorb,we need to continue to drink it,anytime I go to the hospital,I am dehydrated, strangely, the last time,I wasn't I now take it as a given,it helps clean our systems too. Crystal light, and my new fave,Ocean Spray has a great array of flavorings for some delicious drinks. Tea and coffee do not do the trick, the water helps our digestion too. My NUT told me that if I drink coffee or tea I need to balance it with more water. I no longer drink coffee and I never thought that would happen. I am drinking all the time if I am not eating. We also want to watch our potassium for our hearts and many other things.
If our pee pee is dark,we are not getting enough water.
Hope this helps, great to see you,as aways!
Hugs!
Drink up,sister!

Hi Linda,   I think you're right, tha****er will do alot to help clean up the system of whatever ails it.   Also should help to prevent problems.   This it the motivation I needed, thank you so much.   I've got two 32 oz containers ready & I won't go to sleep tonight till they're both empty.    It seems like alot, but I'll just go one day at a time.    Here'a big hug for my sister in Phoenix
