Linda,

You're right, I don't eat enough veggies.  And I am far more critical of myself than anyone else would be.

Good morning to you, sweetie. I hope that your day is as great as you are. If it is then you will have a bit of heaven right here on earth.

I certainly understand what you are saying about mom's raising kids alone and being dad to them. My Mom raised me as a single parent after my Dad died when I was 15. That was not a easy job as I look back. I was one rebellious kid let me clue you in!

I didn't know that your son was in Iraq...let alone for the 4th time. What branch of service is he in? My dad was in the Army. I had relatives in the Army, Navy and Marines. I am partial to the Army because of my Dad.

Food yesterday was good. I did better and I am glad. We went to David and Heidi's for a small cookout and then Bill went swimming. He loves that so much. He has a lot of fun swimming.

B: nothing
L: a chicken shish ka bob and a beef one too (they were good!) a small spoon of macaroni salad and a couple of sour cream and onion chips
D: a hamburger patty with sliced onion
S: nothing

I enjoyed my day yesterday and today is going to be better. We get to take Kayden to church with us this morning. I am so glad that Bill gets to spend the morning and part of the early afternoon with his grandson. Heck it isn't Mother's day and I am glad I get to also. ha ha

I better get going. I have to put make up on so that all the people that I see don't turn around screaming "My eyes  ! My eyes!". ha ha

Have a great day and I am sending love and hugs to you and prayers are going up for you as always. Make sure that you spread your seeds of happiness and joy around to make others have seeds of their own.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda, you are pretty inside and out,and you ARE Kayden's grandma, through love. My son is a navy man,as was my dad,and brother. He did not see his baby girl until she was almost 2!!
He is on a air craft carrier, and is career Navy. I guess I do not speak of it often, and he is on my heart and mind so much. However, all sons and daughters in the service are in my heart.
I am glad you are eating well,I do believe we are meant to enjoy our food, now that we do not abuse it.
Enjoy your day,sweet one.

My Dad was in the Army.  My husband was in the Navy, on the carrier, Franklin D. Roosevelt.  He was a 'green shirt' which meant he got to go in the front of the chow line because his job was important (catapult and arresting gear).  He always talks of how good the food was and the cafeteria was open 23 hrs a day.
I'll keep your son and all of our service men in my prayers.

Thank you Jani. To show you how much our country has changed,a cook was the only job my dad could have,he quit school early because his dad died,he lied about his age to get into the Navy. My mom's brothers had good positions in the service, some came back, some did not. The ones who came back had the respect of our small southern community, and my grandma was always loved and respected, for the content of her love and character.
God bless our country.

My FIL also lied about his age to get into the Navy.  He was down there getting ready to go to boot camp when Grandma got wind of it and she went down there and pulled him, by his ear, back home.  When he turned 18 he enlisted and served.  He spent a year and a half in a vet hospital for his injuries and ended up on disability from the Navy for the rest of his life.  He never talked about it much though.  I pray for our troops.

Can't honestly say I remember all I ate yesterday.  Not all good, but alright.  Several munchies.

B- Quesodilla (spinach and chicken)
L - More of the same
S - a couple of small pieces of terryaki chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, peas.

Snacks - too many Goldfish grahams.  Also went to BR31 with Mary for a NSA ice cream.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
