Am I the first on here Today? So what's happening Weds?

Judy, the nurse called the office and talked to the nurse to see if the PA cultured it. She had told me she was going to..well...she didn't. So the nurse did and took it to the hospital. The results should come in tomorrow and the nurse is coming back Friday morning. She is aware of the pain that I am in because she has been here already. I feel like I am  and I am just getting a headache! The nurse told me that Stanish's office is the best doctors in the area. So I guess he is the one that I am going to stick with but I am going to let him know that I am not happy with the way this whole thing has been handled.

But....that which doesn't kill me makes me stronger.....so if I am still alive at the end of this I will be stronger...

Aloha dear Brenda.....OK, I think you know my feelings about infections......very scary!! This is the time to be VERY PROACTIVE about your health. I can hear your frustration with getting the runaround from so many people, and you are not feeling well, so it's hard to be pushy and assertive when you don't feel well. But this is YOUR LIFE!! This has gone on far too long, and I'm worried about you.

PLEASE be pushy when seeing PCP!! Hang in there, babe!!

Karen, I went to my pcp and she asked me how things were going since the last time I went to see her things were bad...I was waiting for something to happen because of the problem that caused this problem. I told her how things were going and what is happening. She asked if I was on a antibiotic and I told her no. She asked me "No one has you on a antibiotic?" and I repeated no. She told me that she was putting me on one and if need be it could be changed but I needed one now. She called the hospital to see how the culture is going. They told her that it wasn't finished yet but that it had some bacteria in it now. So she put me on the Cleosin again. How I hate that stuff. But if it is going to help I will take it. She asked me to please tell the visiting nurse to let her know the report of the culture. I go see her again in 2 weeks...the day before I see Dr. Stanish. She told me that she wants to make sure that things are going alright. I was told by her that if I needed her before the 2 weeks to come in. I never really cared for her but I see the concern and worry that she is showing me and it is impressing me more than she ever has in the 3 years she has been my doctor. So...now I am on an antibiotic and the results of the culture should be told to me Friday and I am feeling a bit better just knowing that someone besides the visiting nurse cares about the problem that I have.

I am being as proactive as I can..I always have been but with this I guess it is like you said...I don't feel good and to be honest...I am so tired....physically and emotionally. But I told Bill that I feel like I am fighting for my life and I guess I am.

OH....the pcp told me that she is running labs on me. She told me that there might be something wrong there that is causing some of this too. I asked her if she could run a bunch of them and she said yes...and she gave me a whole list of them. I have to get them probably Friday morning. I am just to tired to get them done tomorrow.

Yesterday, I rode my bike and today I have a pulled something on my rib cage area.  It hurts really bad when I take a deep breath. OUCH.  I took a deep breath.  Today, I am looking up two more articles in the University data bank and then I think that I am finished with research and can actually start writing my paper.  I don't want to say what has already been said, and I want to include all the really good stuff with citation of course, so I research the hell out of the topic before I begin.  Then, this afternoon, I am driving three hours down the mountain to a little town where one of our community colleges sits.  I am going to meet with the director of the English program and find out some statistical stuff for another paper that I am doing after I finish this one.  But, the leg work must begin.  Man do I love research.  I think I love it so much because I am nosy by nature and want to know everything. LOL.  My grandmother use to call me nosy rosy. 

Beside research and more reseach, I am just doing very little physical work. I don't think I'll get the bike ride in today.  If I get home in time, I will do some walking. 

Margo, I know what you mean about the hubby.  Mine is always accusing me of being a little too *****y. I agree with him that I am a ***** but only turn *****y when provoked.  I then remind him of the ways he provokes me: Leaving shoes in the middle of the floor; leaving socks in the middle of the floor; leaving moldy cups in his office; never taking the trash out.   Okay, you get my drift.  It's him; I swear. 

jeannie- the really funny part is that i hadn't even done or said anything..i think he was having a guilt attack or something --i mean if i start something well ok ...or if i am provoked but i didn't do or say anything--this time!!!!!!!!!!!

Well good morning to everyone! I have been reading the previous postings and it seem we all agree on one thing! We can all be ****** and our husbands can't handle it! LOL!! Poor George the only guy posting today and he has to be thinking boy do I know what those husbands think! LOL!!
 Anyway I hope that everyone with afflictons get to feeling better. Brenda it sounds like a good thing you are heading to the doctor! Make him take notice and tell him that you need to get that infection under control if he can't do it then you will go to the ER. I have had some of the worst experiences with the few doctors I have seen here in Bloomington. They must be from another planet!
 Lightswitch take care of that side and don't over do it.
 My cousin is still here and will be until Friday then I will be taking her home. She is so demanding. Being where we had been before WLS she can't hardly do anything for herself and expect me to do it for her. I will be ready for Friday to get here before Friday I am sure! Anyway at least I am not as lonely during the day. Well wait a minute she is still sleeping and whenever she is awake she is either talking non stop or on the computer playing spades. SO maybe I am just as lonely???
 It is going to be another scorcher here in HOOSIERVILLE! It was so hot on Monday that I was just about sick. I hated the heat when I was heavier and I still hate it! Oh well next winter I will be freezing and can look back on this week and say you better shut up be careful what you wish for turkey! LOL!!
 Well whoever is going to Hawaii have a great time and bring me back a guy in a grass skirt! Love those guys who dance with the fire! WOW!

morning susan and OFF!!!

well its another nice sunny day here in willoughby ohio....supposed to get up to about 87* today!!! glad we have the pool!!! went to the pool yesterday and it was still chilly water but i DID get in it even for a few minutes just to say i was in it!!! LOL laid in the sun for a spell and have some red upper thighs now!! ouch!! but i did get some vit d from that sun...woohooo diane (ricks mom) came over and she went in with me. rick said his back hurt so he stayed inside and used the heating pad and the massager on it. he feels better today.

not much else happening here. just being lazy on my days off.

did i mention i burned my arm at work the other day? well i did...again...sighs...will i ever learn to be careful around the pizza oven??? anyhow last night i noticed that it was swollen. it did blister up the night before last and i put some burn ointment on it and covered it up with a bandaid. but now it is swollen up some and i am not sure it should be. it isn't red or anything like that so its not infected. guess i will just keep an eye on it and see what happens. can't get into see my new dr til july 22nd so thats out. if i go to an ER or anything it will cost me $250.00 deductable so that is also out.

well best hit the shower and get my lazy day started....hope you all have a great day!!!

If you burned it at work, it's worker's comp; doesn't your job have a worker's comp doc to see? You should have put cold on it when you burned it right away to keep it from blistering. Check at work to see if they have a worker's comp doc and if they don't, make sure they pay for it, because it's a work-related injury. (I know we have a worker's comp doc.)

yeah i did it at work...its always at work that i burn myself!!!! dam pizza oven gets me every time!!! once in awhile its the popcorn machine!!!! GRRRRR

i have no idea about the workmans comp dr if they have one or not...it wasn't that bad after it happened so i didn't report it. i have had worse ones already...just none that swelled up. its better tonight.
