I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Everybody, It is still raining and hailing in Nebraska. I am almost ready to get the ark out. I am getting ready to go to Dallas this weekend for a bariatric conference with Colleen Cook. Is anyone else going? It is going to be miserable hot down there. Have a great day. Mona

Hi Susan and my OFF family:
My, my, we are chatty today! It's a scorcher here in West Michigan ... it went from being spring to summer in a heartbeat.
Well, my TV came yesterday morning and then Comcast came in the afternoon (they said between noon and 3 p.m. ... he came at 1:45 p.m. ... pretty close!). Nice guy, I think he was here before. Big guy ... he was having problems squeezing between my entertainment center and the wall ... I could understand that, I used to have that problem. We started talking about WLS, and I told him I had gastric bypass five years ago and lost 180 pounds. He was impressed. He kept asking about lap band too ... I think a lot of people want that because it's not permanent, and that's fine (I have nothing against lap band ... if it was available back when I was looking, I probably would have considered it). But I'm happy with the decision I made.
Well, my brother heard about what's going to happen at his work ... they're closing the Milwaukee office of AIG. He will have his job until early in 2010 (next year) and then receive 6 months of severance. So he has some time to look for a job. Still, that's a lot of people out of work. That's a big office. So keep him and all of those people in your thoughts, please. My brother is 57, and all of you know how difficult it is to find a job at our age. He has a college degree, but it's in French education (yeah, a lot of good it's done him ... he taught for two years and decided he didn't like it). He now manages the print room for AIG and is a victim of those idiots who brought down that company and our economy. He also needs orthopedic surgery on his cervical spine sometime this year because he's lost feeling in his left hand; he has bony growths on his spine that are impinging on his nerves. But he'll have insurance for most of that time. Gary's been through the ringer these past few years ... went through a divorce, foreclosure, bankruptcy ...and has come through it OK. This is just one more tough break for him.
My kitties are happy to have their bedroom napping spot back ... for the past few days when I was camped out in the bedroom watching TV, they wouldn't come into the bedroom with me; they'd sit in the front room instead. So now they're in the bedroom lying on the floor napping.
Well, I need to post my two book reviews so I can get paid. The last book was really interesting ... it was an art book with this artist who painted bodies with clothing ... really cool! Didn't have much to read in it, but the photos were awesome.
Have a good day.
