What's new Thursday?
Hi my OFF family:
Up late, as usual, checking my payroll deposit on a Thursday morning (it's there, for once, as little as there is, less than before because I had two vacation days in there). Don't know how I will make it stretch, but I guess I'll have to try.
Not much going on. It has been hot here; it hit the mid-90s today. I have lots to do today, shopping-wise: I have to buy new phones, a surge protector for my TV, ink for my printer (these are not usual expenses), plus the usual expenses of food, prescriptions and gas. Luckily, I got some extra money from the book review job (which I finally finished), so I was able to get some essentials with that.
I was happy that the White Sox won last night, although they tried to blow it late in the game. Got a lot of homers, though. Fun to watch until they started giving up a few long balls.
Well, chat away. I'll check back later. Got a lot of spare time on my hands in the afternoons now that I don't go to wor****il late.
Baseball is the great game. My Rangers finally won after losing five in a row. 2-1. Eileen, did you notice Padilla's record since he was placed on waivers. Remarkable.
Update on Oleta's mother. Her spirits are up. A complete turnaround on that. She is communicating via a touchpad the hospital has put in her room. She is very alert. She is still fairly much immobile from the neck down. She is still draining fluid from the lungs and the area around the lungs. Doc said that should have stopped by now. So, she still needs your prayers. Evidently she has decided to fight now. She no longer has given up.
Mary only had the grandkids for two hours today. Then Eddie went home with her and helped her clean out the garage.
Today, it looks like Mary will be taking the kids to the movies. I have $25 in gift cards for AMC theater. Up is playing. They ought to enjoy that. She will do that while I sleep today. There is an 11 AM show.
They expect us to hit 100 degrees the next 7 days.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
The heat index was over 100 here yesterday afternoon and it's already in the 70's this morning with threat for rain. Wow summer arrived with a bang.
Stocked up on carb master yogurt and cottage cheese from Kroger yesterday ......try to get everything in order for when I get home from surgery. So many lists......lol!
Have a great day,

Done! Your Ticker:
joint. It has worn badly and causes pain and limping. Just hopefully a 2 day stay in hospital, can walk on it right away, and off work 2 wks.
Will have a pretty big incision and that's what worries me - he will use the same scar where he put the original replacement join in place.

Glad Oleta's mom is doing a little better. The docs did something similar with Bruce's lungs to clear fluids, and after making him very miserable at first, he felt better. He's still waiting to die, but at least now he can breathe.
It is miserably hot here, too, Eileen. It doesn't bother me like it used to, in fact I will sometimes go outside to warm up when the other stylists crank the air waaaaay down. Just another amazing change since WLS.
I wish I had a magic wand to wave over you to help you out. I swear if I won the lottery I'd be broke in a month because I'd want to help all my friends and family. Money woes are horrible. I know....been there, done that. We're thankful every day that we sold our CA house and got out of there when we did. The possibility of homelessness was a real(no, REALLY) possibility. I certainly sympathize with you, my dear.
Have an interesting day off today. I've been asked to do the hair for a photo shoot for a local magazine, They are doing an article on a National Guard Major and his family. I'll do hair, Dear Tess will be doing the make up for them. No pay, but my name will appear in the credits. Good pub! Then, I will go to work and do our photographer's (different photog) hair. She did the pics for Saint Bella in trade for a mani/pedi, cut and color. Saint Bella got the better end of that barter....her photos are going to be amazing on etsy.com!!!
Okay, gotta run. Hope you're all doing well. Welcome home Connie.....Annette, please feel better and call me! Everyone else....my thoughts are always with you!

it's 72* already today and sposed to get really hot and rain later here too--hope it all clears up early tomorrow morning for our sale...blingy heat-oh gosh...make sure you all stay hydrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (would anyone like to borrow my "mother's soap box"?????)
seems strange to see our wonderful pat r up so early- i forgot about your pre op testing, pat! be safe and just think how close you are to the outcome! good to see your pretty smile!!!!!!!!
i, too, checked the bank this morning- workers comp is in there today and i transferred some money over to meet the house payment check which also hit today-easy come easy go!!! i need printer ink but i think we will drive to findlay-there is a cartridge world there and ink is the same price as when i get it online but no shipping or minimum purchase to get free shipping and we trade in the used cartridges so we are recycling....that was more convenient when i was doing plasma donations (not sure when/if i'll start them back up)
george- sounds positive again for oleta's mom...are the docs worried about the fluids around her lungs tho???.isn't is wonderful that mary CAN do all these things with the grands??? UP sounds like a cute movie to me. and sleep for you- well- we know ya need it!!!
seems i am going to be heading up our family reunion again so i made a call yesterday to a church in edwardsburg, mich to see if they have a social hall that we can rent- our michigan pioneers on one side of the family are buried in their cemetery so i thought it would be great to have the "do" there..we'll see what happens....had to leave a message and hope the pastor gets back to me soon!
allergies and sinus kickin my butt yesterday...not comfy at work!! i think partly due to getting back into the Common Pleas work..i'm in 1934 and it's getting dusty again!
really not much else to talk about...sure wishin i could twitch my nose and have this house sold....but then doesn't everyone!!!
hugs and prayers...........
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
