Aloha Jeannie...I am worried about you! Your being unable to eat as you are is troublesome....and really needs to be diagnosed. As far out from surgery as you are, seems like you should be able to eat most anything (small portions) without tummy problems, but mostly you say that you have to be extremely careful of what you put in your mouth. That is not a fun way to live!!

Make that call.......and be insistent that you need answers. I HATE that you are six hours from your surgeon. Hey, I'm another island away from mine and need to fly to Honolulu to see him....a real pain in the buh-tocks!!

You have a very demanding lifestyle, and you need not to have to worry about getting sick every day from what you eat.

Good luck, friend.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Sounds like you are taking it easy. Do you plan to have surgery?

Thanks for caring. Don't worry, I am not totally falling apart ...yet.

Boy, did I ever underestimate my daughters. Anne-Marie called Mary to tell her of my woes, Mary called me .. full of concern. I must not always listen very well or 'think' they are giving a particular response.

The pharmacy has to work with my doctor and insurance company to fill the Rx for Boniva. I'd rather not pay for it if the insurance will. My doctor thinks I will have the same miserable side effects as the other two meds we have tried. In the mean time ... I wait.

Eating - mostly the same stuff except at 2 AM I woke up and really wanted a bagel. That was an odd yen. So I got up, made a bagel (1/2 for me, the other 1/2 for the cats) poured a cup of coffee and watched QVC. Rules of eating and drinking be damned for once. Sunshine

Aloha sweet friend.....Hip Hip Hooray! You ate what you wanted last night. I LOVE hearing that. You are so GOOD about eating, and sometimes a simple pleasure is just what the doctor ordered.

As for the other things....I, too, hope that they get resolved without further surgery. Glad your daughters came through for you, too. I understand being sensitive to suspected criticism......believe me. Soak up that love that you have all around you.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

P.S. Your cats eat bagels??

Good morning to you, my sweet dear Linda. I want to thank you for caring about me..sometimes I think you are the only one on this planet. I know that isn't right but sometimes when I get to feeling sorry for myself you know how that effects our "stinkin thinkin" at times. I don't think that stinkin thinkin ever goes away for long.

Food was better yesterday...I think. I did better with protein and with water too. So maybe I am on the way up. So far today is going pretty good too.

B: WW frozen entree...oriental chicken I think
L: nothing
D: chicken and steamed veggies
S: nothing

I need to do a bit more better with the water and I am working hard on that today. I seem to think that everything is slipping....and sometimes I think everything is slipping away.....

Have a great day and know that I am sending love and hugs to you and prayers are being said for you and yours. So...don't forget to spread the seeds of happiness and joy around where you go.....

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Aloha Linda......My dear, you must know that I care about you, and worry about you, too. From the git go I have been concerned about the infection, and know that once that is cleared up, you will feel 100% better. Having gone through some time now not feeling very well myself, I can really relate to wanting to have that feeling of well being back!!

Sending you a gentle hug....

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Brenda,it seems to my our age group has a hard time, maybe it's age,I do not know.
Of course you have many people that care about you,
Our family and regular friends can not relate to this, that's why we need each other.
I want you to fight for your recovery from that doctor who keeps giving you the same antibiotic, this,I do not understand.
Hang in there, and know that you loved.

Hi Linda and Friends!  I think I missed checking in yesterday.  I remember almost finishing typing in my food when one of the bosses came too near my desk and I had to abandon ship!  Anyway - today looks good:
B - protein shake
S - protein shake
L - almost 3/4 of a slice of bread with a slice of ham, two slices of cheese, and a slice of fresh tomato - talk about a miniature Dagwood sandwich!
S - a couple of figs and some cheese or figs and yogurt
D - going out before the baseball game
S - probably a protein bar or Kashi bar at the game or when we get home

Yesterday I did pretty good
B - protein shake
S - yogurt
L - our business manager treated to pizza.  I ate one slice and the toppings from a second slice - really good chicken-bacon-cheese pizza
S - protein shake
D - catfish, fresh spinach, and a spoon of green onion mashed taters
S - a good old cup of coffee!
