When do you feel stuffed?
Julia

I have a very hard time with steak. I have to smother it,I can not eat it off the grill.
I wish I did throw up,I did that once only.
My dump is a dry, painful heave, maybe with some fluid, sometimes it is very bitter.
What ****** me off,it can be something I had eaten before with no problem!
I know what you mean. Steak is one of those foods that I cannot eat to save my life. One or two tiney bites and that's it. I can eat a little more of those minute steaks, but they must be, like you said, covered in brown sauce. When I vomit, it all comes up. I then get so weak that I have to put my head down between my knees. You're right about one day eating something and it be good and doable and then eating it again a few weeks later and up it comes.
There is nothing worse than dry heaves. At least mine empties. LOL

That's why I still use the baby plate. I divide it before I even get started. Once the baby plate is empty, I stop. I'm like you, if it is in front of me, I will nibble. My son can eat a lot more than I. Sometimes I worry that he is over doing it, but he is still dropping the pounds.
You men have it made. All that testosterone and big muslces make for a wls heaven.

In many ways I have been lucky with food. The only thing that has made me toss my cookies is ... a cookie. 3 bites of a chocolate cip cookie and I learned to stay away from sugary goodies. Major dumping on 3 bites.
The big problem is that many foods are repulsive even before they touch my lips. Smells impact my choices. Bread smells too yeasty, fish - eww gross, pasta feels sticky in my mouth, milk is stinky, my hubby's cooking can trigger drooling and not the good type.
Cottage cheese, fruits, green beans, chicken, some beef and pork, tomato sauce (homemade), Kashi Go Lean, and lettuce are my staples. I'd be happy with just cottage cheese and fruit, but try to add some variety. It makes cooking simple.
I'm with you on the cottage cheese and fruit. They are my staples too. I can not do lettuce well. I do eat a lot of salads, but those that I make and I go real lite on the lettuce. I'm a big green bean eater too. In fact, hubby reminds me there are other greens. LOL. I can eat brown and white beans, but only if they are homemade. The store bought ones, or the ones from taco bell or other places make me sick after the first bite. I do the homemade tomato sauce too because of the sugars in the store bought ones. I do buy the storebought can of tomatos or sauce, but I make it into my own Italian or Mexican meal sauces. Catchup makes me dump too. I made the mistake of eating one of my grandsons catchup satuarted fries and knew within minutes that I was going to be sick. It was different from the others, though, and I got really light headed and felt faint. I think it was a real dump as opposed to, whoops, I ate something my pouch hated. LOL
I'm so happy to see you on and posting. I know how hard it is for you and how easy it would be to lurk and go to bed or to the back porch. Times will change and you will feel better.

What a great thread! It's so interesting to see the differences we have with the same new plumbing. Might even use it as a topic at my next support group!
For the longest time when I reached the point of "fullness" the only way I knew not to take one more bite was when I burped. It was a a good one, too. I don't do that very often any more, and it's easy to over do it when I'm eating something I like, so I make it a point to always leave something on my plate. It makes me feel in control over the food, especially after a childhood of being forced to clean my plate at every meal. Maybe I do it to secretly get back at my mom and grandmother???
Chicken breast is very iffy for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But, the one thing that gets me every time is spaghetti. Just that particular pasta will sit in my pouch like a rock and make me miserable. Oh, I can eat lasagna, rotini, elbow macaroni and linguini, but put spaghetti in front of me and I know there will be trouble brewing. It's a small price to pay.
I also have the stomach acid situation you have. Three times, while sleeping, I've woken up gasping for breath with stomach acid in my lungs. Aspirated the nasty stuff, and I'm sure it's what mustard gas must have felt like. They put me on Prilosec first, of course because it's cheap, but it didn't do a thing and I had another episode. So, now I'm on generic Protonix and I'm doing fine. At some point I'm sure something can be done, but for now I'm sticking with what I'm doing. I see my surgeon on the 7th about my hernia, so I'm going to see if there's something he can do at the same time to fix it. Going for a twofer her! Heck, I might even get a plastic surgeon's consult and go for a threefer...LOL
