Margo, I'm so happy you and Carla had a nice visit.  Carla, aka Igo, drive safely. George, I don't envy your moving of heavy furniture.

I am just about ready to head out the door to teach day I of Summer II.  I left my text books in my office at school, so I need to pop in there and pick them up, then go make copies, and then run across campus.  That is the great thing about teaching summer school.  Every single day, I walk about one mile to the class that I am teaching and another mile back to my car.  If I add going to the library, it will add another half mile and since I'm at the school already, might as well go to the wonderful library for books and copies.  Yeah.

Hubby has decided he feels good enough to mow, which means we feel good enough to mow.  Our lawn is huge and it is all grass except for the large trees.  I cannot let him do it alone, so I will end up mowing the front yard and sitting on the porch watching him mow the back.  See, I can whip out and mow in nothing flat, but hubby, well, hubby has OCD.  When he mows, he might mow the same area about five times and turn off the mower and rake and then pick up the grass and weed eat and then mow another section and on and on.  It takes him hours to get the back yard mowed.  The lawn mower guy does it in an hour flat.  Of course lawn mower guy is young and physically fit and does lawn mowing for a living.  So, my evening wiill be crap and my allergies will be flared, thank the good earth that I have my medrol pack.

You all have a good and safe day

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo,

Summer II was good. I have eighteen students and all of them are seniors, which is nice.  After class, I rushed over to the library and picked up a few research books and am now biting at the bit to get into them.  I think, though, I'll nap.

I had the best day in a long time. We attended a family reunion/graduation, the first in about four years. My Dad and his 6 brothers all looked the same - tall, bald headed men. Each one gave me the warmest hug. It almost felt like Dad was giving hugs.

Some people have not seen me since WLS and did not know who the heck the 'stranger' was. That was kind of fun.

One cousin sat and asked questions about WLS. She has struggled with her weight forever and is now an out of control diabetic. Her sister had stomach stapling 25 years ago, experienced all sort of problems and regained all the weight. Kris asked to meet me soon and talk more about my experience with RNY.

Everybody was sweating and fanning themselves, I finally felt comfortable and warm.

Today is clay class with my client, so Monday is another fun day at work. I get to play with clay and paid to take a class. Good job for sure.

Good Morning Margo and all,

I had a wonderful day yesterday. I did meet my high school best friend forever and it was just like we had just seen each other the other day! It was so good to see her.  We talked and talked ad talked. I think we will keep in much better touch now. With e-mails and all we should do better. I was so happy that I ignored my impulse to call and cancel.

I only have 4 days of work this week and then 4 days next week. I have Thursday, Friday, Sat, Sun, and Monday off. It only cost me 2 vacation days, one holiday and the week end. The other cool thing is that I already cleaned the house and so I won't have huge cleaning chores during my vacation. Woo hoo!

Work will be busy but that's OK. I stay more in line when I'm busy.

Maybe Karen C, Millie and I and anyone else around the Pacific Northwest can look at a get together in our neck of the woods one of these days....all would be welcome of course and encouraged wildly to come but maybe it could be over this way sometime.

Annette, how neat to meet all your kin like that....and to meet some who hadn't seen your skinny self...Fun!

Jeannie, sounds like you had a better food day....I still have trouble with steak but....I am thinking that some of the trouble I have been having is actually me eating my protein first and not being able to fit in the carb stuff...hmmm...I will have to watch this and see....

George, when I take a nap, I usually turn the ringer off or unplug the bedroom phone and tell Tom, "I'm taking a little nap." and he answers the phone and I sleep. I would be a cranky butt if I was trying to have a little sleep and got woken up...

Pat good thoughts and prayers to you for this week.
I am having hip surgery in Oct, as soon as I get enough sick time built up.

Take care all you fine people,
Cheryl

Hey there Margo!

I am jealous of you and Carla! Meeting my old best friend from High School has renewed my hopes to get to meet more of you all.

I am there with ya on the having to go to work today.

a gtg up your way is doable--planning  planning planning and then tell us about it--karen c knows the ropes-and the what not to dos....

timing and expense are key- a place to stay reasonably with 3-4 in a room --something to do in a close proximity or transportation plays in--airport access....throw in a good thrift shop , a martini bar (???) , maybe a $4 ....and the sistas will come!

i would love to meet you!!!!

Day one of my two day week.....LOL  Won't be back to work
until July 20th.

I have laundry to do this afternoon and will change my bed
tomorrow and put clean linens on.  Won't need to pack much
to take to the hospital....they don't want you to bring anything
like cosmetics, etc. and I'll wear home what I went with.

It has cooled down here and only to be in the 60's for the next few days....you won't hear me complaining about that.

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts....

Pat R.
