What we are eating, and whats eating us,Sunday!
Hi Linda,
Yesterday I did pretty well for a weekend.
I had salmon patty (leftover from dinner out) some cabbage salad for lunch
Breakfast was a protein drink
snack was cherries (we have a tree and for the first time it is LOADED!)
Dinner was chicken (ate first and was very uncomfortable so mostly ate the asparagus. Chicken and asparagus on the grill.
Like I said in the When do you get stuffed thread, If I eat the protein first, I do get full. I was able to eat the chicken a bit because I marinated it all day. Still could only eat a few bites.
I also ate more cherries and had a granola bar, homemade protein bar.
Today is lunch with best friend from HS who I haven't seen since about 85 and I am very nervous. Will go to the Mexican place down the alley and prob have a chili relleno (I take all the breading off and eat the chili and cheese. I usually eat off of Tom's plate but since I don't know my oldbest friend so well I best order my own.....
I've been reading about Charles....have fun! Enjoy!
Take Care,
Cheryl

Cheryl,do you know they do not sell chili rellano here??? I loved it in New Mexico.
Your friend is going to be happy to see you.
You seem to have a good handle on the food.
I think sometimes we do not eat protein first,it is because we want to eat more.
Of course I am never guilty of that...
hehehe.

good morning sweet Linda!
I was so diligent about posting my daily menus on our AR board, but over time it got to the point where it was only myself and one other gal posting, so we've both stopped. Guess you all are going to be stuck with me now...LOL!
Today is kind of a "fly by the seat of my pants" day. Not too sure what I'll be doing for lunch or snacks, but I've been wanting meat loaf for the longest time, so that's for sure for dinner. Since I'm not sure about today, here's yesterday's. Hugs and love to you all all my friends out there in cyber space!
latte--non fat, sugar free
cottage cheese w/ canteloupe and 1 slice of double fiber toast
Kashi red curry chicken-- about 3/4 of it
latte--nf, sf
3/4 Atkins chocolate chip granola bar
orange
flat iron steak, fresh corn on the cob, 1/4 baked sweet potato
latte--ff, sf
cals: 1236 fat: 31 grms carb: 144 grams pro: 107 grams
That's my story and I'm sticking with it!

I'm going to make steak today too. I wish I had a nice sweet potato. I will settle, though, for a nice regular one. I am hoping that I get to eat it.
Have you tried the hubbard squash? They are like sweet potatoes and are less calories and are so good. I need to start making them again. The problem with that is, I'll eat the squash and not the meat. LOL.
YOur menu looks great. How much protein in those granola bars?

The stats on the Atkins Chocolate Chip Granola Bars are:
cals: 200
fat: 8
carb: 18
fiber: 6
sugar: 1
sugar alcohols: 2
Protein: 17
I freeze them and OMG they are terrific. They are pretty rich, so I usually break one in half and have part of it as a morning snack and the rest later in the day/evening. I keep them at work in case I get too busy to have a regular meal since I can eat it on the run. The friend that turned me onto them says she microwaves hers for a couple of seconds to melt the chocolate and eats it as a dessert.
I've never been a big fan of squash, and if you remember, I only started eating sweet potatoes after my surgery. Gary LOVES spaghetti squash made into spaghetti, and I do kind of like yellow crooked neck squash, but it has to have lots of butter and salt/pepper on it, which kind of defeats the purpose. I've seen the delacata squash and it looks interesting. One of these days I'll get brave and step out of my vegetable box!
