JanetW just called from the ship as they were sailing past the edge of the Galveston Ship Channel!

She said to tell everyone HI! and they will be back next Sunday.

No luggage yet and she slipped and fell on the Lido deck and has an ice bag on her wrist and one on her neck.  She's working on a couple of spa days out of the fall.......only OUR Janet!!!

WAAAHHHHH!!!!  I want to be with Thelma!  I could be her own personal nurse again.

Seriously, she really needed this vacation.  I hope she's having a ball!  Her son is a great traveling companion.  And the spa sounds wonderful.

Thanks for letting us know she's on her way.

She told me they considered getting off the ship; the fall happened before they even left the dock in Galveston.  I'm hoping it wasn't too bad a bump and she has a great trip.

I think Mike would've encouraged her to bail out if it had been bad enough

So one week she's in a nasty car wreck and the next she slips and falls before even starting her cruise and. . . it sounds like she's hurt more than from the wreck! I'm so glad she didn't have to abort the cruise. Tho it  is so hot; I guess you southerners can handle the humidity. I'd have a hard time with it. Regular "hot" down there is more than I can take. July and August hot is something else. What was it the actor said in Biloxi Blues about the temp? I think he called it "Africa Hot!" I understand what he was saying. Not just heat, but heat and high humidity. Enough even to curl my straight hair!

I'm not sure how much more "Africa Hot" I can handle!  Thank goodness for A/C that works at home, in the car and at the office - I actually have to wear a jacket in the office!!!

I do love my summertime weather just not the triple digits we've had the last 2 weeks!

Hope she has a great time and rests up from the fall. Sounds like something I'd do (falling, that is ... I do it so well!)

Hope things are getting back to normal in Galveston. My brother and I so enjoyed the city when we were there last April, but I know so much has changed since the hurricane. We stayed at a nice older hotel right by the shore next to Joe's Crab Shack ... really enjoyed our stay there. Sorry we missed you.
