I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi,

Another day at the library.  This is a test of my fortitude and my ability to mask my true feelings.  Putting on that happy motivated and "I love my job" face always makes me exhausted by the end of my day.  Good exercise I guess.

Hubby sold his motorcycle yesterday so I am happy we can get some bills paid.

Gotta get ready.  See ya!

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Wish I lived near enough that I could join y'all.  Have a great time.

I have nothing but stressful conversations with my mother.  If she bothers to answer the phone.

At least my father has an excuse.  He has Altheimerz

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

I have a full day today.  I'll be teaching this morning and am staying at school all day afterwards.  Then, I'm meeting with my professor who is also on my dissertation committee.

I won't get home until around sixish tonight but So you think...comes on and that makes me right happy.

Just as I figured, hubby didn't get the lawn mowed, but he did rake all the pine needles up and cleaned out the flower beds, which just reminds the world that I have beautiful beds but no freaking flowers. LOL.  Oh, and he did a lot of fence cleaning, whatever that means.  I kept waiting for the mower to start so I could go do my part, nothing doing.  I ran to the store and bought him more gatorade and a large watermelon and met with my friends.  When I came home, he was showered and about to call me.

I hope he gives in and lets the lawn man come back.  The lawn is a getting tall. LOL

Margo have fun with the gals.  I wish I had time to make a trip to Hot Springs or Missouri to see or Arkansas and Missouri friends.

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

I'm so excited to be able to get Thursday off and go up to Traverse City. As Margo said, it's really just what I needed. I knew that, but also knew I had to be fiscally responsible and not spend the money on gas to go somewhere ... but this solves the problem. Thank you, Margo, for letting hitch a ride.

While I was on the phone with Margo, the Rent-a-Center guys came by
finally with the contract for my TV ... as I was finishing up with Margo, they were being greeted by Scooter, who's usually so shy (he usually hides under the bed when strangers come in ... if Diva were still here, she would have been all over them ... she was a flirt when men were around); the RAC guys also were checking out my bobbleheads; they thought they were pretty cool. I should've asked if I could sell them some.

Anyway, I spent the day making a chocolate zucchini cake to take to our farewell picnic for the nine people leaving the Press via the buyout route today (actually only seven today, but two in August also). Hope the picnic doesn't get rained out; it's gray and gloomy and rained last night. The house smelled really good yesterday afternoon and I had chocolate batter all over me, but at least this time my mixer didn't burn out when I made it (I left the butter out from 10 a.m. on, so it was nice and soft).

In the evening, my coworker Kim came over for a viewing of "The Tudors" Season 2, and some wine that I bought on the way back from Chicago ... cherry wine from Free Run Cellars in Michigan ... a little tart and spicy, very good! I put out some chips and salsa and some cheese cubes, and we watched the first disc of the DVD set ... I had already watched it, but you miss so much. It's a great show. We are both really into Tudor history after reading "The Other Boleyn Girl" and other books in that series by Phillippa Gregory (great author!). I am now reading a nonfiction book called "Elizabeth and Leicester," about Queen Elizabeth I and her lifelong affair with Robert Dudley. Very interesting! There's a whole chapter about how the royalty went on these "progresses" and how they had to take along furniture and food and their whoel households. And Dudley put on this massive entertainment for Elizabeth at his house, Kenilworth ... it was described in detail and said to be something that Shakespeare might have seen when he was a child because he lived in the vicinity; some of the details were similar to things in his plays. It's just fascinating. I really love this period of history that I didn't know anything about before ... didn't really study it in school.

While Kim was here, I heard from a former coworker, Gayle, who lives nearby; she's going to look in on my cats while I'm in Traverse City. We're going out to lunch Thursday also. Haven't seen here since she took the buyout and left. I'm glad she lives close ... I'm hoping we can start walking together (it will help me, too).

I have my bariatric yearly check-up today; I know my weight is up and I'm not happy about that because I don't think I've done anything differently from last year, other than not exercised much (I've talked about that already).

Well, I have to get ready to get there; they have a new office and I'm not quite sure where it is, so I want to leave a little earlier.

Have a good day.

AGH, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early. My turn today to get up with old dog. Bless his heart, just can't get past 4:30 or 5:00 before needing to potty.  Then he has to have breakfast and water, so what's the point of going back to bed?  Oh well, maybe someone will take care of me the same way when I'm 105! of course now he's sleeping on the couch and I'm wide awake!!
I don't have to be in until 1:30 today, so I'm not sure what I will do to pass the time. As always, there are Saint Bella bottles to label and fill, so I might do some of that. Have some ordering to do, too. Maybe I'll just read my book and chill.....yeah, that's it.

I think the dizzyness from yesterday is gone. At least I think it is. Time will tell. Who knows what caused it. I'm just weird...lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Susan
