Just catching up

I haven't posted on whats New sense before I took the kids camping. Got back to work and have just been incredibly overwhelmed. This boss has made everything 3 times as difficult. When had a meeting today with the staff and the hostility and negative body language was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I try to keep her time consuming useless changes to a minimum, but with little sucess. Enough of that but that is why I can't spend a lot of time in my favorite place.    Right after the camping trip my SILs dad died so there was all that to get through, not only was it family but I am the head of doing the dinners at he church.. accckkk.
This Friday night I will be having a  Birthday Luau in the back yard for my then to be 16 year old grandaughter Faith, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and more elaborate, and guess who is going most of the work?? I have been freezing loads of cut up fruit for a smoothis bar.I should be working right now. Today I helped my mom work on her gift, then I went thrift store shopping to find her a mumu. Now I have decided I want to try and find one of those old 70s chairs, ratan, with a big back for my mom to set in so Faith can honor her, I have seen that is a big thing to honor the Tutu. I have called my lawn service to see if there isn't SOMETHING they can spray on the yard for Friday night, the chiggers are terrible!! I would hate for her 16th B-day to bve remembered as where  everyone goes home all bite up, Lawn service said they don't do that I would need an exterminator or jus spray people with Off, I can't afford an exterminator..any suggestions??
I am leading a womans support group tonight, it started as a generic womans group, we have a lot of woman who were stripers and such, 2 weeks ago I find out that 8 or of 9 of the gals have been molested.. Oh crap, that takes us in an entirely differant direction. My work is cut out for me.
Well now I am going to clean the kitchen up so I can mess it up again making  dozens of decorated sugar cookies tonight shaped like palm trees, dolphins ( I have never heard Karen talk of dolphins, do they have them in Hawaii?) and star fish. Oh man a sugar cookie sounds very good right now.. no no no.. Ok I have bored you getting up to date. Actually Margo, the yard sale sounds like fun, even tho a lot of work. That pretty much gets me up to date..Love Ya's

I love to hear what you are doing.  My ultimate life goal is to be a caterer.  Yup, what you are doing is right up my alley.  The Luau sounds wonderful and the big chair for TuTu would be ideal.  What fun it will be.  And the mumu   Ohhhh yes, that would be perfect with lots of lai's  

Hope the bugs won't be a problem....  can't help  you there.  Maybe a friend could spray "stuff" on it for cost.... or barter...  good luck.

How did you find a minute to even post this???  My goodness, I'm exhausted just reading it.

Bet you the party will be a smashing success and your grandaughter will be so happy.

So sorry about your SIL's dad. She was lucky to have you there.

Go get you so seven dust and if you have a seed thrower thing, put in that and roll it around the yard.  Or, just put some gloves on and toss it.  That's what my hubby does.  It kills, fleas, ticks, and chiggers.

um jean...i have one of those chairs in my garage attic..... and a gorgeous muumuu made for me!it wouldn't be there by friday if i mailed it tonite-and i don't think i have an envelope big enough!!!! sorry-just giggled thinking of my fizzies!!!!!

the yard sale could have been fun if it hadn't been for trying to actually get money! and get rid of years of stuff...didn't really accomplish either-everytime i trie dto strike a deal mster got angry...let's not go there!

Ahhh Nuts !!!  I know you would have let me use it too.Your just that kinda girl. As excited as I was over thinking I had found suitable mumus, I washed them last night and for the heck of it tried them on, one was tight under the arms, the other fit me just right, so they may be too small for Mom.. Crossing fingers.

First off, I am sorry about your SIL's loss. She is very lucky to have you there for her. I know that doing the funeral dinners are not easy. I have never done them but I have helped at my church with some. Not something that I would like to do. I am not a kitchen person...the church now knows not to ask me...I will do anything for my church but not any kitchen stuff. ha ha

Your party sounds like it is going to be a great success and I think that your granddaughter is one lucky girl to have you as a Grandma. I think that you have some wonderful ideas and they are going to make the party great with just the right touches.

Yes, they do have dolphins in Hawaii....Maui Karen talks of watching them play in the mornings. How I wish I was there to see all them. It sounds like a lovely place to just sit and veg....

Ahh good to hear, what would a Nebraska luau be with out dolphins..It's almost midnight and I am just now going to frost and decorate them and their buddies the star fish and palm trees.How the heck did you convince people you weren't any good in th kitchen?? I need that skill. I will report back on the party. I am getting excited ( just wish I had a cleaning fairy)
