Happy hump day. I have a few people around who are upset about the way they are over eating. This is my take, and I am not a professional,so I share only my hopes, dreams, and experience.
I believe I have a disease,WLS has treated part of it. Isolation, low self esteem, and fat are symptoms of my disease, and I attempt to treat all parts,everyday...smile.
B-Scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. L- Pepper jack cheese and roast beef on whole wheat bread. D- Barbqued chicken, rice with homemade gravy, broccoli, mushrooms, red pepper. S- you guessed it,an orange!!
I eat well, somedays lighter, depends on what my body needs.
However,in real estate they say it is location,my success is based on portion control.
Have a great day!!
This one is for the lurkers, you know who you are,LOL!!!

Linda,

I completely agree with you - WLS does not cure overeating - it treats the physical body, and we have to take care of the rest.

I had a session with my personal trainer at the gym last night and feel like an elderly cripple this morning.  At least I know I really worked my muscles.  When we were setting up one of the weight machines, one of the muscle-head guys who works out there started teasing me by saying, "I'll have to reset that machine when you're done - I don't think I can pull as much weight as you."  The old me would have been crushed to hear a remark like that.  But I just said, "If you can't pull as much weight as I can, you're in big trouble" and went on with the exercise.

B: coffee protein shake
S1: iced skinny latte
S2: strawberries
L: crab salad, Asian 3-bean salad
S: feta cheese, cucumber
D: gyro-style turkey meatballs, black bean dip, carrot & apple salad
S: frozen cherries (my supply is almost gone, so soon I will try frozen grapes)

Dear Jean, the way you responded to the other trainer says it all.
It shows the progress we make as we travel the road to wellness.
One of the fasinating facets for me and others I know,is how some of us can have low self esteem, and be narcissistic at the same time.
We progress,if we choose to,one day at a time. "Progress not perfection".(OA)...
I wanted to share this with you,I thought it cute.
If you worry about what people think of you,you may be surprised to find out how seldom they do!

Linda,

If you worry about what people think of you,you may be surprised to find out how seldom they do!

So true!  When I hear people complain, "Why hasn't anyone noticed my weight loss?" my response is usually, "Because they care more about themselves than you."  I'm no different.  It's all about ME!

Jean,I adore the way you think,it is honest. I really care about a lot of people here. I am here for me though,it is what brought me here.
Because we are walking the road with a destination that is the same,we relate, even in a way we can not with our family and other friends.
We are quite varied. We are kindred spirits.

Linda,
I have thought about something like that too...about being so shy that at the same time it's really being self-absorbed...(that's me btw) and then also the irony of being one who wants to make sure everyone is happy or not mad but at the same time then that makes one controlling (that's my sweet little mom, oh wait, and me too I think). Funny, how things can appear but then when you look again you can see a whole different spin...
