Oleta's mom is not doing good.  Today they attempted to do a biopsy on her lungs to check for lung cancer.  When they did, her lung started bleeding.  Her kidney's also shut down.  Oleta signed the DNR orders today.  Oleta is finally breaking down some.  Prayers for her.

oh george....

done....with love....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

George, I am so sorry that Oleta and the family is having to go through all of this. I know when I had to sign the DNR papers for my Mom I was 45 years old and it was hard. I can't imagine having to do it at her age. I am so glad that she has you and your family to depend on..she is going to need you all so much in the future.

I am keeping all of you in my prayers. I know that God is with you all....

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

So very sad, George. End of life situations like this are never easy, and we all must face them in various forms unfortunately with our parents, friends, whomever. I missed my own mother's death by about 4 hours, and I still feel a pang of guilt when I remember that. I was on Maui vacationing and she was in the hospital with a bowel obstruction. My brother called and said I'd better get back to Oregon soon....and although I was on the first available flight...it was too late. In our little family here we have had many sad end of life cir****tances....and I hope that the TLC you and others receive helps them get through this.

With so much aloha,

Maui Karen
